Smart & Final Extra!

"Went in to buy something to drink really quick, and had to use the restroom. I asked the employee restocking the restrooms if I could use the bathroom. She just ignored me and proceeded to head to the back. I was going to go ask at the front if I could use the restroom, when she came out to restock the other restroom. I said “excuse me can I use the restroom?” had to say excuse me 3 times because she just kept ignoring me. At this point I honestly thought she was deaf. She unlocked one of the restrooms for me and looked at me like I was bothering her. Didn’t say one word to me. I was like how rude of her to just blatantly ignore me like that. At least acknowledge me and say give me a second or something. I’m a general manager for a restaurant and that was just unacceptable. Only reason I’m giving this store 2 stars is for the gentleman who helped us at check out. He was very pleasant. Didn’t get either of their names but the lady was a little hobbit with a gray bob. Looked like she hates her job. This happened around 8pm Friday October the 13th."

"I don't want to go to the details I just want to share how beautiful employees are in the store at this location. It's a little bit fur from my home. I will always visit the store just because of an amazing customer service. Cashier always smiling. Very helpful. Stock people super helpful."

"Smart & Final serves as a useful place in many communities, but it is what it is. In my mind, it is a cross between a Costco and a Dollar store. They have bulk items, fair prices, cannot design a user-friendly app for the life of them, and have only a skeleton crew to take care of normal customer flow. The overall feel of the place is that it is under-served, dirty and somewhat smelly; just needs some TLC. For example; I hate how they never have a butcher on staff. I also think their produce is not as fresh as many of their competitors. I from time to time have found outdated expiration dates on their products, so now I spend double my grocery time, trying to locate and read - expiration dates. All this is, to sone degree, expected for them to fulfill their niche of being a bulk-discount market. What prompted this review is that they recently compromised the one thing they ruled at; providing “The Most-Perfect and Best-Priced Roasted Chickens” in all the land; Where you very recently could purchase a giant freshly made Roasted Chicken for just $6.99. However, the manager told me that they needed to bump up the chicken price to $8.99. A 28% increase! Anyhow, I admit that it is a sign of these grossly inflationary times; and that the Roasted Chicken is still a very good deal."
