"I don't usually post about bad food experiences but this one can't go without comment. Went there today to celebrate a couple birthdays. Ordered 2 large pepperoni pizzas and 1 large cheese pizza. My kids and nephews all grabbed a slice of pepperoni, then I grabbed one from the same platter. The second bite I felt something hard and chewy in my mouth. Pulled out a plastic bread bag clip, one of the square ones. It was baked in the pizza! I didn't make a big scene, calmly informed the waitress what happened. She seemed sincere in her apology and at the end of the meal she took half a pizza off the bill. Be careful when you go there. If it had been in my kid's pizza it would not have been good for their employees."
"I drive 25 minutes to pick up our pizza, then 25 back home. This is the original Filippi's - I grew up eating here. Excellent! If you don't like tons of cheese, do like we do, ask for easy cheese and you'll have the amount most other places put on theirs. It's soooooo good! Desserts are great, too!"
"We did take out so can't speak to service or atmosphere this trip. BUT, I've been eating Filippi's since the 60s and am a huge fan. I'm not a huge pizza fan but of all those I've had in SDiego, few come close to Filippi's. I'm more of a pasta fan and have never been disappointed and have had every pasta dish they make."
