"We had an excellent lunner today. My wife had the salmon off the menu and I had the pork tenderloin off the board. Both were very good. We split the bread pudding and took the carrot cake home for tomorrow ."

"We live in Napa and have expectations for good food and service. Right off the bat, it was if we were dining in a freezer. The waiter had absolutely no personality or talent. The waiter wrote down that we were sharing the roasted chicken. We got salmon and sides. I complained to the manager that no one communicated to us that we are sorry your order was delayed and placed in error by the waiter and that we would have to wait 20-30 more minutes for our main course! We said we weren’t going to sit and eat sides by the time our meal came out and pay for the horrible experience! We walked out. Terrible management, service, and drinks."

"Came here with 5 other people, so we were a table of 6. Firstly, the food tasted like it was canned or packaged food, nothing really to like. The food used to be good. We were there for only about an hour total and we were ignored and the waitress was short with us. I overheard the manager say "how long have they been here? Turn their table, they didn't order alcohol". So basically the manager or owner, whoever it was, wanted us out because we didn't order alcohol. Then the bill came, there was a mandatory 20% gratuity despite the horrible and absent service. I've been to a lot of higher end restaraunts and never have I been charged a 20% gratuity, it's usually 12%-18%, and certainly not for 6 people. 6 people is NOT a large table. This is probably a way for the management to get guarantee staff tips while being rude to customers. My understanding is that Norman Rose is under new ownership, so that's why the food NOW sucks and the service NOW sucks. In the past it was a fine place to eat. I would recommend everyone avoid this place."

"We held a baby shower one Saturday in their private room. The management and staff were so accommodating and friendly and really worked with us as we brought in flowers presents dessert and loud laughs. And food was great! Please hang out at Norman Rose Tavern!"

"This may have been a bad weekend to come into Norman Rose because there was a jazz festival and Porchfest and the usual throng of Napa tourists. The service was good but abysmally slow. Like we waited for what seemed to be forever just to have our order taken. The employees were very nice and cheerful and even apologized for the long wait. The atmosphere was good. We sat outside and it was a little loud with a large party in the middle of the patio but it was fine. They do allow dogs, which was not a problem for me at all but some may not like that. The food was delicious. I can’t rave enough about it. After the wait I was hungry too! In all I would recommend going but maybe on a slow day or during non-peak hours."
