"UPDATE - I was contacted by the owner after raising enough of a stink. The problem is resolved now, but I can't say it was resolved without a lot of questions about their methods. They blame us for not having updated our phone number with them... The number they had for us we have not had for about a decade. Okay, fine... Should it have been updated? Sure, but this was 10 years ago, and it had never been a problem. Until now I had no idea that they used the phone as a sole means of verifying if a paying customer still wants to keep paying. In addition to us they blame the post office for sending back mail as undeliverable to us (We have been at our address for nearly 20 years now). The owner said this is an ongoing issue and that they have contacted the post master over it... Okay, but if you know the post office is an issue... and that you are getting false undeliverable, then maybe don't trust it when you get an undeliverable mail. Try again. Leave a note at the door... Or on the trashcan "Hey, we have been unable to contact you, can you please call us at...", or email us, since we pay online. Stopping a paid for service should be a LAST resort, not the second. They have had no issue contacting us to let us know when our bill is due, but somehow contacting us for this was completely impossible. So the issue is resolved, but this company needs to take a look at their protocols for handling this situation and come up with something MUCH more sensible. *** Original Post *** I attempted to contact them over the fact that my garbage has not been picked up for over two weeks now. The woman I spoke with said they were unable to contact us. The phone number they have for us was wrong, but they have our physical mailing address and my wife has been at home both days when they should have picked up our garbage. So they cut off our service, even though we are PAID UP NORMALLY, because they were unable to call us and took no other steps to contact us. So I have two weeks worth of garbage at my home and no service being provided. The woman hung up on me twice, while I was trying to get this resolved. I never cursed or yelled. She spoke over me any number of times when I tried to explain that we are paying for a service that we have not been provided for two weeks. She refused to send a truck to pick things up without charging us a $10 fee, and she refused to give a refund for the two weeks of service that they have not been providing. When I asked to speak to someone above her, I was told I could not, and that it would be next week before anything that could be done. Abysmal customer service. This needs resolved."
