About the Business

San Antonio Northeast Vet Center

San Antonio Northeast Vet Center is a local government office located at 9504 Interstate 35 Frontage Road in San Antonio, Texas, United States. This center is part of a network of Vet Centers across the US and its territories, offering counseling and outreach services to Veterans, service members, and their families. The center provides a wide range of social and psychological services, including professional counseling for issues such as depression, PTSD, and military sexual trauma.

The center is staffed by experienced counselors and outreach staff, many of whom are Veterans themselves, who are trained to support individuals through the challenges of transitioning from military to civilian life or after experiencing trauma. Services offered include individual, group, marriage, and family counseling, as well as referrals to other VA or community benefits and services. All services are confidential and provided at no cost.

In addition to its physical location, the center also operates Mobile Vet Centers (MVC) that provide confidential counseling and outreach services in communities that are distant from existing services. The center also operates a free, around-the-clock call center where Veterans, service members, and their families can talk about their military experience or any other issue they are facing and get connected to their nearest Vet Center.

In FY 2023, the VA's Vet Centers provided readjustment counseling to over 115,000 individuals, totaling nearly 1.3 million service encounters. Outreach teams engaged with over 160,000 people through various activities. The center is part of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and is committed to providing support to those in crisis or experiencing thoughts of suicide. "What is wrong with Vet Centers in San Antonio. I tried going to this one because the other one I tried going to was insanely rude, and so was this one. Imagine the worst customer service you've ever experienced at a fast food restaurant. That's what I've gotten at both Vet Centers. I guess I'll just go kill myself then since my only recourses for help don't want to help me."

"The Vet Center is a great resource. They're a branch of the VA health administration, though they only see veterans who served in a combat zone. If you have questions call ahead."
