"I just took my cat, Felix, for his annual checkup. As always, this vet was on time and every one is helpful and friendly. I also learned that feline Greenies are a dental treat that helps with tartar removal. Felix is currently enjoying the salmon flavor."

"I’ve been going to Delavan Lakes for 20+ years with my emotional support dogs. I don’t think I’ve seen a vet since before COVID started. My dog has been groomed and cared for by interns and office staff. I haven’t objected up to now because I believed they were taking care of him. The vets must be seeing him at some point, right? Then I started noticing that his nails were always long. I asked what I should do. They suggested I have them clipped every 3 weeks. Which I did and yet we never saw any improvement, in over two years. They’ve been his “caregivers” since he was 8 weeks old. Literally his entire life. How could this happen? Current situation, we are planning a wedding reception for our daughter I set up the dog’s appointment approx 6 months in advance and told them it was for a wedding at our home and that our vision was to photograph the dog with the family. I made his appointment before i made the bride’s appointment. A few weeks before the dog’s appointment, Delavan Lakes Vet called me to announce that with their staff going back to school, they would no longer be able to honor my appointment (that I made 6 months in advance). They said I would have to reschedule. I was in the car driving so I couldn’t make a note and I forgot. I never heard another thing. I didn’t get a notification that I had been cancelled, no one called. I showed up on my designated day only to find out there was no appointment. I was shocked and frantic, completely speechless. As this was unfolding, a second office member walked behind the girl that was helping me, looked me in the eye and said with a sour smirk, “You were supposed to call back… remember.” She was so smug and dismissive. Other than to be mean, there was no reason for her to come in. They were absolutely firm, it was on me and they refused to help me find a solution. People that suffer from Mental Health disorders are easy to humiliate and traumatize. I get upset quickly and then have difficulties communicating. I am the perfect target. I was so upset and I told them I was pulling my business. I asked them to have the vet call me. My favorite vet of 20 years, never called. No contact at all. But the story goes on. Now I’m in a jam and running out of time but I still have to find another groomer. I found one, thank goodness. When I went to pick him up from the new groomer, I was met with hostility about the terrible shape his undercoat was in. The new groomer was really upset that my dog was so badly matted. Evidently they were “forced” to have a team of people wash, brush and shave my beautiful, kind, loving, happy dog to the bone. He is completely bald around his entire neck, his backside, his legs and his belly. It’s not even smooth and he has razor burns everywhere. They worked him over for 240 minutes, 4 hours. Thank God he didn’t die from the stress. He was seriously traumatized, and I couldn’t speak at all. I left in complete horror of the unspeakable treatment my dog had endured because I forgot to make a call to my very busy vet. The dog had never known an unkind hand before that day. I couldn’t get out of bed for days. I’m still struggling with the horror of it. Bottom line, he is not fit to be seen at the wedding at all. He will not be in any pictures and he will not get to play with my grandsons. I am completely devastated. I called Delavan Lakes Clinic and left another message for my vet. She chose to ghost me, again. If you’re a dog lover, or have mental health issues, find a different vet. Like the girl behind the desk told me, “it’s no problem if I take my business elsewhere, they have 7,000 other customers to take my place.” No empathy or regret. Obviously the owners and my vet mirror her sentiments."

"Dr. Kevin Hartwig has been caring for my cat, Leo, for awhile now. He is so incredible, not only with his care for animals, but his knowledge and customer service as a whole. It's heart-warming to find a vet that cares for my pet the way I do. He's punctual, extremely professional, and super loving towards Leo. Having a clinic, such as Delavan Lakes, has eased the stress of taking my cat to the vet when troubles arise. I'm super thankful to have found a clinic with all the great qualities you hope for when finding someone to care for your pet!"
