Amarillo Southwest Pool

"Went to the pool today only to find it closing at 1 pm and they only allowed lap swimming which is not for children. I was shocked and will not go back."

"My kids and I had a great time! The life guards were alert when at their posts and friendly when they were walking around. We visited 3 times this week, since we were on vacation. I liked that my boys (11 &13) had enough room to have fun with the other kids, but also had time to just swim. A big bonus was that the pool allowed for swim toys to come in and snacks! The only flaw while there was that they did not have any loungers to lay on that I see at many other pools. They did have covered seating at their tables."

"Wish there was a way to leave not a single star for this place. Lifeguards and staff are very rude. The whole time our family were a constant target. Time outs for stupid stuff…my teenage nephews playing around amongst themselves not bothering anyone, can’t hold your breath under the water just for a few seconds not to even dunk yourself to get water on you, playing splash ball in the pool, what they are considering “rough housing”. The lifeguard who thought she could get smart with my nephew telling him “Don’t talk back, don’t talk back” when he was explaining himself and wondering what he did wrong. His mother was right there and his uncle was in the pool with him. He literally did nothing wrong. And the two “little girls” ,or least the act like little girls, running the concession stand thinking it’s okay to snap photos and record people, point fingers, and talking about people. And then wanted to ask if we were leaving but cut their question short…which is a good thing considering all the stuff that was said ,loud enough for everyone to hear, about my family. Took a lot of self control to not snap at them. This place has horrible staff. Let me or anyone in my family find some photos and videos of us on social media and I PROMISE you’ll get slapped with a lawsuit."

"We usually have great visits here but we were able to come earlier so we could have more time to swim. Had to pay 8 dollars instead of 5 I am sure because we came earlier but then we could not swim for 30 minutes or so because they were doing lifeguard training which was very frustrating since we paid more so we just had to stand around in the 100 degree weather with our 3 year old asking over and over if they were done yet. And then the splash pad area was not working at all."

"There is always really attentive life guards. Feel safe with the kids swimming here."
