Alta Rehab at Wauconda

"Best way to describe this place is lipstick on a pig. They seem more concerned in making sure the place looks good than making sure they have enough qualified staff. The CNAs are all worthless and non-caring. Every time I went to see my mom she was laying in bed with soiled underwear because they take at least 30 minutes to attend to anyone that has their light on. They’re cruel to patients and just don’t care and their rehab is even more of a joke. They’ve lost and or stolen clothing and personal items. I would not put my enemies in this place and am so glad my mother isn’t suffering at the hands of these so called caregivers anymore. Do not put your loved ones here! It’s heartbreaking and they’ll never get better!!!"

"Wauconda Care is a great place for loved ones. Everyone there is friendly and helpful! Everyone calls you by name and wants to do a great job. The place is clean and has many wide-open spaces to visit or gather. The food is also very good. The only thing I am not happy about is the cut off of physical therapy. I am sure coverage only pays for a certain amount. But many of the residents walk the hallways to get exercise. That just isn't enough. Also wish they had outside trips for those who can. But that might be an insurance thing."

"We are very pleased with all the specialties involved in the rehab care of our sister Marina. The nurses, nursing assistants, housekeepers, dietary personnel, rehab specialists, social worker and admin staff have been amazing. They are very personable and professional, yet show patience and have compassion for their patients and their families. Marina already is showing more confidence and hopefully will be able to walk with a walker soon. Your facility is very clean and smells fresh all the time. We appreciate all your hard efforts in maintaining such an excellent facility . Diane Michaelides"

These people did a fantastic job and taking care of all my mom's needs one thing I could suggest is to get to know your patient a little bit better there were several times when she asked for something and no one got it for several hours but the overall experience was good"

"My mom transferred to Wauconda Care for ongoing IV antibiotics and therapy. I was extremely impressed with their beautiful facility and therapy dept. The Therapy dept was able to see my mom the day she arrived to establish a plan and provide therapy which was very important to us. The nursing and dietary team was very attentive, kind, and friendly. Activities had a happy hour party for patients when we arrived which looked so fun! Very positive experience!"
