"I love the TopGun indoor range but they do use a mediocre gunsmith. He put some sites on my SD9 pistol to which he did a good job but scratched up my gun a bit. Then I had Helix change out a firing pin in my S&W 22 Compact to which after under 100 rounds the “new” firing pin failed. I went back to Helix and he said he’d fix it again but was wanting to charge me again. He doesn’t back up his work. So I called S&W they sent me a free firing pin and I looked up YouTube, I found a guy showing how to take that pistol apart and put it back together, and so I learned how to take the firing pin out and put it back in. So now after like 500 rounds or more all is still good. No thanks to this gunsmith."
"Sent a gun to get refinished as well as other mods.Finish was done poorly had to send back to get refinished and finish is still coming off.Decided to bite the bullet and take the gun somewhere else to fix his mistake. Also he doesn’t seem to want to respond to messages or emails.Just glad he didn’t permanently damage my gun that I can see."
"I had an SKS that I got a year ago and spent a lot of time getting the cosmoline off as well as just cleaning it. I even dipped all the parts in rust remover and removing the bluing, intending to re-blue it myself. I did one part and realized I did not have the experience to do the rest, so I took it Helix to get it blued. I also wanted them to clean the barrel/receiver in case I missed any cosmoline. They did an amazing job. The parts they reblued look like they came from the factory- very slick. The barrel was cleaned thoroughly as well and I love this rifle now. Attached are some pictures I took of the whole process."
"Helix is the best gunsmith business I have been to. The guys are VERY knowledgeable and know their stuff. So far I had them hand fit some very expensive Zenitco furniture to my AK, Thread a bull barrel .22lr rifle for me, and right now they are cutting my Beretta Bobcat for suppressor height night sights. You will not find a better group of guys in the area in my opinion."
