"I am sitting here at the Joliet Infusion center as we speak receiving my treatment. When called from the waiting area, the nurse addressed me by the wrong name. Then, she weighed me incorrectly, she had me sit in a chair as opposed to standing on the scale, my weight was 10lbs off. My medication is ordered according to my weight. I was placed in a chair right next to another patient’s visitor. I became a bit uncomfortable and felt as though I did not have any privacy. The nurse then proceeded to ask me if o was okay, I nodded okay, she said is there something wrong, I said no but I was looking to the side just wondering if I should say something about the close of another patient’s visitor. Amy then says, with a horrible attitude, that if there is something wrong, that I need to tell her and that she does not deserve any attitude. I asked for another nurse because there is no way in hell that you are going to start in IV in me speaking to be on that manner. The only reason why I did not tell her off is because I did not deserve this treatment from her. I’m sorry that her lack of empathy assumed that my fatigue was an attitude. I have patients throw, curse me, etc., many times at work and I would not ever say anything like that, in the manner that she did, to any patient, where is your empathy? The people that come here are ill, don’t assume that I have an attitude. Thankfully, Amanda was available to take me on as a patient. I’ve been here a few times and received exceptional care from Amanda and Jamie, these two are a prime example of how a nurse should treat a patient. I did not like the way that Amy addressed me. She seemed condescending and racist. I asked to speak with management and no one has come out to speak with me yet. Hopefully someone does before I leave in two hours. The only reason that I am leaving a few stars is because of the exceptional care that I have received from everyone else."
