"I have never dealt with a worse pharmacy then the Walgreens in Round Lake Beach. An emergency prescription was called in at 10:00 p.m. at night for my son from Lurie's Children's. I called 15 minutes later to find out when to pick it up. I was told it would not be available until the morning. I called at 7:00 a.m. when the pharmacy opened and was put on hold for 30 minutes. I was then told that the medication was in stock but it was not available with my insurance, and so I'd have to find it at another Walgreens and they had no way of helping me do that. I called another Walgreens but it would not go through their system because it had already been processed at the Round Lake pharmacy. I called back Round Lake Beach and this time was told that my prescription had gone through the insurance and had been available last night, but I did not pick it up. I told him that I had called last night and was told it wouldn't be available to pick up. He then tells me that he will reprocess it, but my prescription is now missing from the system and it will be a few hours before they can find it. Mind you this was for an emergency prescription and we were now 10 hours out from when the prescription had been called in. I then called Walgreens corporate office in Deerfield to complain. The customer service rep went from very cheery to very annoyed on my behalf that this had not been handled. She told me that if I did not have the prescription in hand within 2 hours to call them back and they would handle it. They have 90 minutes to get me that prescription right now. I can honestly say I will never ever use the Walgreens in Round Lake Beach ever again. I have used Walgreens all over the country at many different locations and never had a problem until I went to Round Lake Beach. There is a 24-hour pharmacy in McHenry and so, if you do need 24-hour services I would suggest you use that Walgreens and not the Round Lake Beach one. And if it's not an emergency, or you need a vaccination appointment, I would use the Walgreens in Hainesville because they are on time and have their act together and I trust them. In fact when I needed an emergency prescription for my son 2 years ago the pharmacist at the Walgreens in Hainesville stayed open an extra 15 minutes to ensure I could get that prescription that night. That is how a pharmacy should operate."

"The pharmacy is out of this world. I can't even wrap my mind around it. The amount of times I have made appointments that were not honored by the staff, been told someone would be here when they weren't, been told an RX was ready when it wasn't, been told an RX was NOT ready when it WAS, and have had to wait in the car line or inside line for LITERALLY OVER AN HOUR, is more than I can count on two hands and I've lived in this town for a year so far. Half the time I call, they are so rude right off the bat. It's as if just answering the phone is the bane of their existence. I just don't understand it. Sometimes they are very polite, so it's not all the time. But I have never in my life dealt with a more disorganized and unreliable pharmacy. I've been in line now for 70 minutes for an RX that I kept being told was ready only to discover it wasn't, for over a week. For over a week this place can't decide whether my RX is ready or not! Every time I call it's a different story. I've ordered it for delivery but it doesn't show up. One employee tells me I can't have it delivered, another one says I can. One employee tells me the app doesn't work and to just call it in, and another tells me it always works. One tells me there's an insurance issue and another says it's been ready all week. I'm here in line anyway, taking their word for it that it's ready. If I get to the window and it's not ready I'm gonna lose it. Not on the employees...but inside my head. I am without a doubt switching to CVS or Meijer this afternoon whether the RX is ready or not."

"Management of Pharmacy here needs to work on their processes to become efficient. Made an appointment for a flu shot. Spent an hour waiting as they had to re-register me and had issues with their own system. Employees seem to be doing their best. Check-in for services such as shots should be automated with a self check-in pad."

"Waited in line for over an hour. I was told that my son's meds can not be given to us because we need to consult the pharmacist. So I came back after 40 minutes and waited another hour. The pharmacist was the one helping me at the window and never gave me a consult on the medication, just gave it to me and that's all. I could have had it two hours earlier instead of wasting time. Before that I called twice got put on hold and got hung up on twice. Then people wonder why so many walgreens are closing down. Customer service at the pharmacy is garbage there."

"Extremely Frustrating Experience I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with the Walgreens pharmacy. My baby's prescription took a whopping two days to be ready, and attempting to contact them via phone was a nightmare. Every time I called, I was either put on hold indefinitely or abruptly hung up on. This level of service is unacceptable, especially when it involves the well-being of a child. Extremely disappointed."
