About the Business
The Barking Lot is a premier dog daycare and boarding facility located at 921 West Wadley Avenue in Midland, Texas. Bring your furry friend for a fun day of playing with friends in our indoor and outdoor play areas, complete with fun toys and kiddy pools. Our experienced staff will ensure your pup has a fantastic all-day play experience!
Before your dog can participate in daycare or boarding, they must undergo an evaluation to ensure they are a good fit for our facility. Drop your dog off by 9:00 a.m. for evaluation, which includes observing how they interact with other dogs and people.
To make the daycare process easier, consider purchasing credits in advance. We offer discounts for prepaid full days of daycare for one or two dogs. If your pup runs out of food or you forget to bring some, we provide house food for their meals.
At The Barking Lot, we believe in the importance of doggie play for mental stimulation and socialization. Our open play areas allow plenty of space for dogs to exercise and have fun. We offer a range of services, including full and half days of daycare, overnight boarding, and long-term stays.
To ensure the safety and well-being of all our guests, we have requirements such as age, spaying/neutering, and up-to-date vaccinations. Each night, dogs have their own individual sleeping quarters for a peaceful rest.
We also offer grooming services by appointment, which include a bath, brush, blow dry, nail clipping, and ear cleaning. Please note our holiday closures and cancellation policies for reservations.

"I had to board my dog during holidays. .As much as I hate leaving my dog. I knew the staff at the barking lot would take good care of her. She been to daycare many times and is always happy at pick up. the staff is caring would highly reccommend!"
"We witnessed a dog being man handled when being placed in a kennel to go home with his Dad after spending several nights at this place. It took 4 people to wrestle him (40 lbs) into the cage. Now I know why. My dog was traumatized after spending a weekend here. She was caged for many hours not only overnight but during a Saturday daytime. If they won’t let you into the back area to see how your fur baby is doing, then RUN. Do not leave your precious babies here. It took a whole week for my pup to get her bark back….she barked from being left caged for many many hours over three days. She was hoarse. I feel horrible for leaving her there."

I could not be more pleased with the service and professionalism. The manager, Jen, is a rock star! She loves the dogs, treats them as her own, and requires her staff to do the same. "I’ve been taking my chihuahua/terrier mix to The Barking Lot for just over a year now. He goes at least twice a week for daycare because he loves it so much! Every time we walk in the door, he can’t contain his excitement. When I pick him up, he’s exhausted from playing with the other dogs all day and is ready for a long nap. The staff is excellent with scheduling and they’re always willing to work with me if I have to leave my baby with them a little longer than expected. "We boarded our golden doodle for the first time ever at The Barking Lot in Midland. When we picked her up, she greeted us, and she was very happy to see us. She ate well, played hard and seemed to have had a great time for the 5 days we were gone. She also went to each staff member for a goodbye and made sure they all loved on her for the last time.
