"I found this law firm on NELA(dot)org and reached out to Ron Dupree on 2/13/24 regarding a case that I've been working on for over a year because the attorney I've been working with said that for the next inevitable steps, I would need to have an attorney in my state to represent me. I gave a brief synopsis of the situation and my other attorney provided more intricate details about where things were. After reviewing the information, Ron setup a Zoom call with me for 2/16/24. We spent over an hour discussing the details of the situation and Ron said "if I take your case, that means there are other cases I have to turn down." I ignored it. Ron followed-up with a request to speak again on 2/21/24. During that phone call, he said it again "if I take your case, that means there are other cases I have to turn down." He also said that he would need to travel from Houston to Dallas to meet with me for any type of depositions that may be needed and that would be at my expense, although me traveling to Houston for any in-person depositions most likely be less expensive. After that second conversation, I spoke with 2 other attorneys about the situation and advised that Ron let me know that he'd be missing money by working with me and they both advised that it sounds like he'd be charging me extra for the money that he would miss and he wanted me to know it which is why he said it more than once. I found that to be off-putting and when Ron contacted me to follow-up, I advised him of this. Even if he never says this to another client, I think people should know he's thinking it and probably charging them according to the belief that he has to makeup for any money he misses out on. More than that, it's extremely disappointing that he's more driven by dollar signs than doing what's right and fair for his clients and prospective clients."
