"I really enjoyed visiting Dr. Clay. She was very patient with me during the pandemic when I wasn't taking my mental health work as seriously and dealt with many of my meltdowns during our sessions with compassion and understanding. I can be frustrating to work with as I am not consistent and can be hard to get messaging through to, so I always appreciated Dr. Clay's kindness during our sessions. That being said, I had to stop seeing her after a distasteful incident. I picked therapy back up after a year hiatus. Unfortunately, Dr. Clay was on vacation and she outsourced my session to a partnered licensed health professional to meet with virtually that was based out of California. I logged into my phone around 10 minutes before my session. I was instructed by the email that if I were 15 minutes or more late that I would be charged for the session. I waited around for the professional to log on, but they never did. I was not provided with a phone number or email to contact the temporary therapist. I was nervous about being charged so I took two screenshots that showed I was in the waiting room of the virtual appointment. The therapist never logged into the session and 30 minutes later, I left the session. I emailed Dr. Clay to let her know and she replied later that I would be charged for the session, as the other therapist stated I was a no show to my appointment. I provided the screenshots to Dr. Clay to show that I was, in fact, available in the app virtually for my appointment. She sent a text back that said she wasn't disputing my version of events but that the other therapist's virtual cords showed that I did not show up for the appointment. That was really frustrating and off putting, as I had a screenshot that proved that what the other therapist's system said was otherwise. I did not have a track record of missing appointments with Dr. Clay. There was no acknowledgement that perhaps the therapist went to the incorrect area or that I was possibly sent the incorrect link. It was really disappointing to be treated that way by Dr. Clay. Needless to say, I never rescheduled and I never paid for the session that I missed. I never scheduled another appointment with Dr. Clay, but I did find another therapist who I see monthly and that I like. Thank you Dr. Clay for your help, but that one incident left an extremely bad taste in my mouth."
