"I unfortunately had a very bad experience. I'm the kind of person that hesitates to speak up when something bad happens to me but I think this is necessary, especially if you're trying to find a good counselor. We all know its unfortunately trial and error when it comes to finding the right person to be your counselor. Keep in mind I am only speaking about my experience with the counselor I spoke to twice. She is the older, blonde lady. I tried giving her a chance because I always want to give people the benefit of the doubt. However, in my 2nd session, she definitely made me realize that her and I are not compatible. I'm not exactly sure why but she told me a lot of information about her personal life and tried relating my experiences to hers the entire time. In my honest opinion, I am not paying someone a large amount of money so they can give me their life story and not allow me to speak. At one point, I felt like I was listening more than I was able to get my point across. In many instances, she divulged information that would be considered unprofessional. There needs to be clear patient boundaries and I definitely don't believe she had boundaries set, at least with me. I have absolutely no ill will towards her but I believe maybe she needs to be retrained on patient confidentiality and how to establish good rapport."

"Great place and great counselors. I took my son to several other places but their hours of operation never work with my schedule and he never seemed to get anything out of the appointments. With South Texas Counseling I don't have to take time off from work or stress about how to get my son to his appointments and I am seeing such a big difference with him!
