About the Business
Hills & Dales is a school located at 3505 Stoneman Road in Dubuque, Iowa, United States. Our mission is to build meaningful lives for individuals with disabilities by offering services that support the whole person and enhance community inclusion. We provide quality-driven services that are continually evaluated, improved, and expanded to meet the evolving needs of individuals with disabilities. Our culturally diverse staff is dedicated to carrying out our mission and providing ongoing training and development opportunities. Hills & Dales advocates for public policy that supports the needs and desires of individuals with disabilities and is recognized as a leading resource in the community. Founded in 1973 by Elaine Barwick, Hills & Dales believes that every individual has a right to personal development in a loving environment. We are grateful for the support of our generous funders and accept gifts online, via check, or through other assets. Our board members include Bradley Kemp, Dustin Manternach, Craig Schaefer, and Wendy Scardino.

"Hills and Dales is a wonderful and inclusive Childcare Center! Our daughter has attended since she was 12 weeks old (currently in 4 year old pre-k). We've had excellent experiences in each classroom and have built strong relationships with all of the teachers. We are lucky to have such loving and caring teachers for our daughter! We are so thankful that we have been able to work closely with the childcare director, Lis, for the years that we have been at H&D as well. She has gone above and beyond at exceeding our expectations, leading her center to achieve the highest level in the childcare quality rating system (QRS 5/5!) which is incredibly difficult to achieve. She has also taken time out of her day to help with personal transitions (moving to a new city/home) by creating a personalized picture book for our daughter explaining our upcoming move. Jessie, the assistant director, has been so helpful since she has arrived at H&D. She's personable, relatable and cares about the children. She expects greatness from her staff and does a good job of coaching when a staff member needs some assistance. Overall, we are very happy with Hills and Dales Childcare Center!"
