About the Business

Musicology is a school and store located at 4016 Willow Grove Avenue in Denton, Texas, United States. Our mission is to instill a lifelong love of music in every mind, with a focus on child-driven repertoire. With over 50 years of combined experience in teaching, our instructors believe that students learn best when they are passionate about what they are playing. We offer lessons on various instruments and encourage students to explore their favorite rock riffs.

Our instructors have extensive experience in teaching neurodivergent minds, including those with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, and other learning differences. We believe in catering to individual learning styles and needs, creating a welcoming space for all students.

Dr. Teresa Stewart-Meli, the owner of Musicology Denton, is a passionate advocate for neurodiversity education. She has a Doctor of Musical Arts and Masters in Music in Performance, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Piano. Dr. Stewart-Meli teaches piano, voice, and theory, and her students have continued their studies at the collegiate level.

Kassidy Montán, a professional vocalist, instructs voice, piano, and guitar at Musicology. She is dedicated to making a difference in her students' lives and creating lesson plans tailored to individual learning styles. Kassidy will be awarded her Bachelor of Music in May 2024, summa cum laude.

Mrs. Stevens, a local artist and mother of two, provides administrative support at Musicology. She studied at The University of North Texas and brings experience from various industries to our team.

We offer a minimum of 34 lessons per student during the school year and 7 during the summer, with tuition divided into 12 equal payments. A non-refundable yearly supply fee of $50 per student is due per semester in August, covering all materials provided by the teacher. Students are assigned a lesson time slot at the beginning of each school year, with the option to cancel lessons as needed.

Musicology reserves the right to cancel one lesson per student per school year in case of emergencies, with make-up lessons or credits provided as necessary. We are dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all students to foster their love of music.
