"Four of my children attended SMA, so we experienced many of the teachers' classes from babies through Pre-K! As a Catholic mom and former teacher, I wholeheartedly recommend SMA. Over the years I have grown to know the entire staff very well. Every teacher, and the director, Patti, cares about each of their students. They put great love and care into each activity and experience they plan for the children. All of my kids were excited every day to go to school at SMA. We love sharing fond memories of Pajama Day, the fire department's visit, and Splash Day! Two of my children also went through the Pre-K 2 class, and it is such a perfect bridge class for parents who want to give their kids an extra year before kindergarten, for any reason! My kids were absolutely prepared for kindergarten (and life!) through their work and play at St. Michael Academy."
"My son absolutely loves it at SMA. This is truly the ideal pre-school for us. Their curriculum is applicable and practical. For example, he learned right away what his phone number and address was. Every day we receive notes on what activities they did during the day - literally what they did at each and every center, what book they read, what crafts they did etc. The kids are taught sign language, Spanish and even have a music class they go to. My husband and I are Catholic - but haven't been fervently practicing for awhile. We were nervous at first that a Catholic preschool may come on too strong for someone who isn't as familiar. On the contrary! They have a perfect balance of prayer and learning so it's not overwhelming. The subjects discussed are mostly things like the golden rule - and just the basics of God. Our little guy is in a class with 9 other kids and there are TWO teachers! We love the direct attention he gets and love that he is taught how to behave in school in a setting where he is lovingly coached about right and wrong. I love that if he ever gets a "yellow" that that is communicated with the parents that day with an explanation of what happened to help us discuss it with him later. We can't say enough great things about this place. My husband and I are both teachers (I've taught for 12 years) and we are blown away by the quality of their curriculum for this age."
