"Had a great experience! I came in to try on different snowboard boot brands and remember my size. Cameron helped me out and was SO knowledgeable, patient and kind. Found out he’s been riding for 17years! It felt nice to know I had such an experienced rider helping me out. I even learned that they priced match, so I ended up buying boots that day! It was SO nice to have a great in person buying experience. I left the store with a huge smile on my face and deep comfort knowing I’ll be riding with the best boots for me. He even introduced me to custom soles and it made my boots so much more comfortable. Overall I had a GREAT experience and I’m so grateful for Cameron. I’ll recommend all my friends to stop by here for their sun & ski needs!"
"My experience with Sun & Ski Sports was nothing short of a nightmare, an ordeal that not only cost me time and money but also robbed me of precious moments on the slopes. It all started when I entrusted them with my skis for a routine tuning, expecting professionalism and expertise. Instead, I was met with a series of calamitous events that seemed ripped from a poorly scripted comedy, were it not for the real money lost, frustration, and inconvenience caused. Firstly, my skis became the shop's personal rendition of a disappearing act, repeatedly lost and subject to an ever-extending series of promised deadlines that turned a few weeks' wait into a months-long saga. When my skis finally did reappear, they were broken by the person doing the tuning, a testament to what can only be described as complete incompetence on the shop's part. In brief moments of accountability, Sun & Ski Sports acknowledged their fault three separate times, promising replacement skis and covering rental costs for my upcoming trip. Yet, these promises were as hollow as their apologies, quickly retracted in a dizzying cycle of acknowledgment and backtracking that left me both bewildered and ski-less for my upcoming trip and the long-term. Throughout this ordeal, Sun & Ski Sports exhibited an alternating penchant for blaming me, despite an inspection and clear conclusion from another ski location confirming that the fault lay entirely with Sun & Ski Sports. My attempts to resolve the situation were met with gaslighting, as I was subjected to lengthy diatribes about the perils of working on old skis—a point rendered moot when it was finally repeatedly admitted that my skis were neither old nor listed as unworkable. Each interaction, whether over the phone or in person, was a masterclass in wasted time, often exceeding 45 minutes with not a hint of apology or genuine remorse. The lack of accountability and professionalism was staggering, leaving me to question how a business so devoid of customer service and competence could continue to operate. For those seeking ski services in Austin, I implore you to consider alternatives like St. Bernard or MarineMax. I know I will never go to Sun & Ski Sports again and risk them causing more than a thousand dollars in loss once again. In sum, Sun & Ski Sports not only failed to provide the basic services they advertised but managed to break my great condition skis and exacerbate the situation at every turn through a combination of incompetence, dishonesty, and a disheartening disregard for customer service. I cannot recommend strongly enough that potential customers look elsewhere for their ski needs; hopefully elsewhere people will be treated with the respect and professionalism they deserve. Edit: The reply below is more gaslighting / performance for those who read reviews. Everyone there is already very well aware of all the above. A board member said “come to Dallas, two great stores” as if no other locations even matter."
"If you go, ask for Marley. She is absolutely amazing! My husband and our friend went in to buy ski boots and Marley helped us. She was so patient and knowledgeable. Despite us taking hours of her time she always had a smile on her face. Her knowledge assured us on our choices and we felt confident in our purchase."
"The bike shop/maintenance is a total disaster here. We went in to buy a Super 73 e-bike months ago as they were listed as an AD. We inquired about a specific model my son wanted. The sales person informed us that Super 73 was going out of business and they weren’t getting any new models in. We left with out buying a bike and we bought one directly from Super 73. Super 73 wasn’t going out of business at all. In fact, they’re thriving. Strike one. When our Super 73 had warranty issues we brought it here and they told us that even though they are an authorized dealer, they would not help us and we should deal with Super 73 directly. Strike 2. Fast forward to now. My son got some upgraded parts for Christmas. We brought the bike in to have the parts installed. They told us the bike would be ready on a Wednesday. We arrived Thursday to pick it up and it was not ready. We were told by the assistant manager there was no telling when it would be ready and they’ll get to it when they could. I left my name and phone number and asked them to call me with an estimate of when the bike would be ready. They never did. Strike 3. So, I went to pick up the bike and I’m having it serviced somewhere else. I’m never going back. Don’t bring your stuff here. I’d stay away entirely from the bike dept. they couldn’t. Are less about you or your bike."
"I went in looking for new snowboard boots, and the nice young lady took the time to answer all of my questions and found the perfect boot for me. The staff here is fantastic. From start to finish she took care of making sure the boots were fitted, heated and setup before I left the store. I cannot express how much I felt like family in the store, and the staff was available to answer any questions I had. I'll be back this week to get my son some new boots as well, and you have a very happy repeat customer. Keep up the amazing customer service!!! Justin K."
