"Took my car in for a noise it was making upon start-up. Several of Stephens mechanics looked and listened to it, but could not find a reason for it. The theory is the noise is caused by exhaust expansion when the car is started cold. The noise stops after the car warms up. Chris, who seems to be in charge, told me he will continue to research a cause for the noise. Stephens also did a routine inspection of the vehicle and found that my oil was over-filled. They checked for leaks, checked the suspension and tires. Stephens Automotive was thorough, and honest. On top of that, since they could not find anything wrong, they did not charge me for the service, even though I know they put a lot of time into it. My service experience was a good one. I recommend Stephens Automotive in Palatine, IL."
