"We sold our house and were moving overseas. The last thing we needed to do was sell the car. Ben, a senior salesperson at Auffenburg KIA, offered us $14,000 for my wife's KIA Niro. She and I both heard his words, and I wrote it down on the Black Book value he printed out for us. When I came to make the transaction a week later, the day before we were to fly to France for good, the guys in his office told me that Ben was in the Caribbean, couldn't be reached, and the price had dropped to $13,000. The flight was the next morning and we had already sold our house in O'Fallon. According to the men in the office, Ben had written $13,000 on a time-stamped document on their computer and that what we said that he said to my wife and me was wrong. They wouldn't show the supposedly time-stamped document to me. I had to sell it to them because I had to sell it. I couldn't leave it anywhere. I couldn't call the police. We had sold the house, our flight was the next morning. They knew that because we'd explained our situation to them the week before: Ben and Jake. They're cheats! How unscrupulous! Auffenberg, liars and cheaters! Know world, that Auffenburg is not to be trusted!"
