"Raiz is a gem on Fullerton. At first glance you might find some confusion with a menu offering both pasta and sushi but don’t be dissuaded. The food here is amazing and you can see the chef and team put care and heart into this place. Absolutely delicious and great service."

"Like a lot of people, the fact that Raiz offers Italian AND Japanese food threw me off, but I came for a girl group for sushi in November of 2022 and the experience was wonderful - not crowded on a Friday late evening, intimate atmosphere in the back with the bar, service a little slow but kind, and some great food! Being a group, we ordered simple rolls and Shrimp Yakisoba, as well as specialty rolls to share: The unique-and-a-bit-too-spicy-for-me-personally River Beast and Zesty Islander (I'm weak to spiciness); Black Monster, The Anne, and the lovely Pink Flower; And my personal favorite - the Ocean Vinaigrette. I'm a sucker for anything with Ponzu on it (give me citrusy-salty *any day*, and I could have happily eaten the whole Ocean Vinaigrette with its "tart, refreshing blueberry ponzu vinaigrette" on top and come back for more. SOLD. Overall, it's great place for groups, Japanese cuisine (with unique rolls and flavor combinations) and drinks (hello Sapporo and Kirin!) as well as its intimate atmosphere."

"Went here on a Friday night because the sushi restaurant we had originally wanted to go to was closed. Saw that they had Italian food too & thought they would have some interesting fusion items... as it turns out they don't. Just random stand alone pasta & pizza items included on the menu. The service was extra slow in a mostly empty dining room. We ordered a couple of rolls, not the best sushi I've ever had but also not the worst. This was the longest I've ever waited for sushi at a restaurant before & the quality was low. The rice didn't stick together & somehow the spider roll wasn't crunchy. It was strange that we had to ask for wasabi & ginger with our rolls too instead of it already being included. For the price & the disappointing food we got, we won't be returning."

"Now this place is a hidden gem! I literally had the worst day of 2022, and I was happy that it ended here. Long story short, I totaled my car hours before I came here which resulted in me taking it to a nearby collision shop for repair. Almost directly across the street I seen what appeared to be a restaurant, didn’t even know what, but I was so hungry I didn’t care. Upon arrival I was delighted to find out that it actually was a sushi restaurant with a relatively diverse pallet that includes sushi of course, but also familiar favorites like fried chicken and Asian inspired adaptations of American cuisine. In other words if you have a mom like I do that no matter where you go, or how fancy the restaurant is, she’s going to order friend chicken periodt. So this place is probably a good option for those going on a first date and not worrying if your partner isn’t going to like what’s on the menu because it’s something on there for everyone, even kids. Not only was the food exceptional but so was the service, from the delivery of my food to taking out what I had left. You’ll be happy to leave a tip here. Will definitely support this business any time I’m in the area. Heck, even when I’m not in the area, it’s places like these that make the drive worth it. Thanks Raiz for taking care of ya boy!"
