Lucent Apartments

"Beautiful apartments, but horrible management. I haven’t even lived here a full year and they have caused so many inconveniences. When communicating with management they say one thing over the phone and another in person. We’ve had random men come into my roommates and I apartment without being notified in advanced that left us terrified and we only found out because our doors were pushed wide open and asked our neighbors in front of us for their ring camera footage. They also wanted to notify us about the 60 day policy by putting a sheet of paper on our door during the extreme winter weather including heavy winds, rain and ice, side note we never got the paper. Which resulted in us have to pay an extra month with an additional charge. My registered car has also gotten towed two times, however since they are two separate businesses it has been very very inconvenient and upsetting having to go back and forth, which I’ve had to pay $600 total and have had no reimbursement for wrongfully getting towed. There are many many other incidents, but these are main issues that have made it hard for me as a resident.This is my first apartment that I’ve lived in and I want to say this place has traumatized me on the idea of living in apartments. This place is absolutely inconsiderate, inconvenient and horrible customer service. I never write reviews and I never want to give negative feedback but I don’t want someone else going through the same thing I did. I want to put this information out to inform you what you’ll be coming across if you live here. You can’t let appearance fool you like it did to me."

"My roommate and I just signed at the lucent and even just one week in, I’m thoroughly impressed. Touring was a breeze and contacting the leasing office was so much easier than any apartment I’ve spoken with before. The leasing agents are the most accommodating and communicative ones I’ve ever met with (s/o to Ethan Abrams for being the best leasing agent I’ve ever had the opportunity to sign with). All this, not to mention the beautiful apartment (inside and complex-wide) and the amazing location. Highly recommend!"

"BEWARE!!! If I could give this place zero stars, I would! This place was amazing when I first moved in but then everything went downhill. The security here is horrible. There have been multiple car break ins, stolen cars and the gates are constantly broken. The front of the complex may be clean but the back is not. We never received fire extinguishers so you either need to buy or hope for the best. To top all of that off… My AC and heat has been out for over a month now and I haven’t received a single update. My hot water is also out but of course no one has checked on that either. I’ve submitted THREE maintenance tickets, visited the office, sent a written notice and still nothing! I truly regret renewing this lease and that’s sad to say when I was absolutely in love with this complex at one point"

"I do not recommend renting at Lucent. Lucent has by far been the worst apartment experience I've ever had in my 12+ years of apartment living. And in my opinion, it boils down to a lack of pride or care in the property by those running it. Don't let the pretty outward appearance fool you. Here are some issues I experienced as an actual Lucent resident between the months of Feb. 2022 and July 2023: Apartment dirty at move-in: Dust caked on ceiling fans and AC vents (see photos). We were given a filthy Valet trash bin WITH loose trash in it and told to dump it ourselves. What a nice welcome! Poorly constructed apartments: Ants coming through the baseboard trim. Paper thin walls. When your neighbors are cooking or smoking and turn on their exhaust vents, the smells will vent INTO your apartment instead of outside. Ongoing crime: Cars keyed (mine and others), catalytic converters stolen, cars broken into, items stolen from the back of pickup trucks. No onsite security. Entry gates are often broken. I did not feel safe at this complex. Dogs: Property grounds and dog park are filled with poop. We often saw dogs in the pool area (see photos) AND in the pool itself, which according to Texas Health and Human Services Rules and Regulations is a violation of Title 25, Part 1, Chapter 265, Subchapter L, Section 194 regarding domestic animals at or in public pools. Insufficient communication: On Christmas Eve(!!), we were given just 30 mins notice before management shut off water to the entire complex, which remained completely off for four days in our building. We were told to use pool water to flush toilets. I asked management what proactive measures were being taken for the next ice storm and was never provided a response. Package deliveries: Don't expect to get online orders delivered. You're better off shipping orders to a friend's house or off-site locker. Delivery drivers leave packages on the floor of the mailroom or combine your items with other deliveries into a single locker making your items susceptible to theft. If management doesn't enforce their own rules and policies, nothing will change and Lucent will continue to go downhill. Rent here if you must, but if the price is comparable, I'd recommend living anywhere else."

"We moved into Lucent at the beginning of 2022 and absolutely love it. It is a brand new complex that is safe, clean, and quiet! Which are always my top 3 priorities when looking at places to live. We apartment hunted in Austin for about a year and Lucent was our top pick. It is about a 20-25 min drive to downtown and 10-15 min to The Domain. The staff and maintenance team are so friendly and always willing to help whenever they can. If I put in a maintenance request at 9pm- I know they will be at my door the next day. I get so many compliments on my unit, it is cozy and has tons of natural light. The appliances and paint finished are top notch. We also never have trouble parking in front of our building. The staff plans fun community activities like thanksgiving dinner, movie nights, free snow cones & pizza, and also bagels in the clubhouse every Friday! Whenever I go out of town, I look forward to coming home which says a lot. We have to move out of state soon and are so sad to be leaving. I wish we could pick up our unit and bring it with us. If you are looking for a cute little complex in North Austin, you found your spot! I hope you love it as much as we do. I am not being bribed or paid to write this review- we truly are just so happy here."
