"I’ve been a tenant at NoA on McNeil for nearly two years. When I first moved in, the management was still Greystar, which was far more superior to the Simpson management group. Things were never stellar, but the conditions were livable. You can tell they love to slap some paint on anything and call it “renovated”. Over the past 18 months or so, there has been a decline overall in the community. The security gates break and stay open for weeks on end (which defeats the purpose of having them to begin with), cars get stolen, homeless people dive in the dumpsters, and packages are consistently being stolen. The management team do not care about the conditions residents live in. All they care about is cashing in a commission check. The maintenance man, Jonathan was the only preserver at this complex, but he’s moved on to another site and taken the little glimmer of hope with him. Over the past two months, I started to have allergy and cold symptoms only inside of my apartment. I have no issue when I’m outdoors, at work or at friend’s places. I decided to take a look at my air vents after speaking with my doctor about my recurring allergy symptoms inside the apartment (symptoms include, difficulty breathing, itchiness, fever, runny nose, rashes and sneezing). Due to further inspection, I came across insane amounts mold covering the air vents and all throughout the air ducts. Now, I have a severe mold allergy, so my symptoms have been far from mild. I’ve attached photos so there is a visual provided for the extent of this mold contamination. I’ve notified the office and they have stated they will “clean” the air vents, but I’m not interested. I want to vacate this apartment due to the negative effect it has had on my health and they are making it impossible to leave without reaching for more money out of my pocket. They are so quick to shove a little piece of paper in your door the moment you’re a day late on rent, but they will ignore your requests to vacate when your health is compromised. Save yourself the headache, time and money - I’ve spent over $30,000 in rent for this dump. Go spend your money elsewhere on housing in North Austin."

"NoA is great. Very small, mature and well-kept community that is managed by a great office and maintenance staff. I've had a few issues since moving into my unit a few months ago but the staff has handled all of them quickly. Kim and Avery in the office are both super friendly and accommodating. Jonathan with the maintenance team is probably the most competent maintenance staff member I've dealt with in my years of leasing apartments. If the rates don't go crazy, I can see myself staying here for years to come."

"This apartment complex is completely overpriced and the owners don't care about the residents at all. It's more of a people farm than a community. The shoddy renovations have caused me a lot of annoyance: The carpet is badly installed - it's loose and nails sticking out of it have drawn blood from my feet multiple times. There is debris and clumps in the paint because they didn't take the time to do it right, and my bathroom sink is hard to use because the faucet was installed too far from the basin. I've also been having electrical issues with the lights and fan. The gate has been broken almost the entire time I've lived here. In the 6 years of living in apartments around NE austin, this place some how has the worst appliances while being the most expensive! I'm pretty sure the washer/dryer are destroying my clothes, and I have already had to get the fridge replaced. Their system canceled my Autopay without ANY NOTICE, and they did not send me an email or call and leave a voicemail saying I had a late balance. I found out when I got a letter in my door at noon saying if I didn't pay by 5pm I would get a Notice to Vacate. Fortunately I was home at noon on a TUESDAY. HOW THE HELL IS SOMEONE WITH A STANDARD JOB SUPPOSED TO PAY BY 5PM ON A WORK DAY WHEN THE ONLY NOTICE YOU GIVE IS A PAPER SHEET ON THEIR DOOR THE SAME DAY???"

"Apts are ok and community is nice, but the front desk worker could care less. When getting my keys at 2:30 (took lunch late to drive there before they close.) Place was closed for lunch at 2:30, Front desk worker saw us standing outside in 108 degree weather and continued to play on her phone as we stood outside. Eventually came and told us she is taking lunch and we cant get keys now. Finally let my wife in when she said she had to use the restroom but she seemed annoyed. Had to come back later to get keys still 4 days after we move in (we haven't used the front door yet as these are townhouses) we accidentally get locked outside leaving through the garage. Asked front desk for garage manual key. Was told this wasn't a thing even though every garage has a key(Apt just doesn't have them). she told me to call locksmith, I call back at my door telling her the locksmith will have to break the door as its a no key bolt. She said we can wait till tomorrow and maintenance will come through the sliding door. When asked why maintenance wont come she said it wasn't an emergency, was pretty much told break your door or go to a hotel and maintenance will fix tomorrow without breaking anything. When I said I don't have my wallet to pay for a hotel, as it is inside the home, the front desk lady said "that's not my problem" after talking to her explaining the situation like 5 times she eventually told me maintenance would come for 300 dollars to break the front door???? wasted 30 min outside in 105 degree weather thinking maintenance would go through the sliding door and not break anything. The whole point of me calling was to see if they had a solution without breaking the door. A little training would go a long way."

"I have been living here nearly 3 years and I love it! Such a quiet place and close to nearly everything. Not crazy about the massive rent increase, but it’s still a great place to live. Emily in the front office is AWESOME! Super sweet, very responsive and she always keeps in touch. The maintenance guys are so cool! Very responsive, approachable, they always wave when I drive by, they get stuff done the same day. The property is well kept (minus the recycling at the back of the property). Knocking down the Gazebo hurt my heart a little bit, not sure why they did that. Other than that, I love that each unit comes with a garage and I like that we don’t have a lot of visitor spaces for parking (I lived in other areas and people were constantly either parking in your assigned spot or leaving vehicles for days at a time clogging up available parking). If you’re not worried about rent prices, great place to live."
