Hidden Timber Apartments

"The reason for this review is to draw attention to the fact the whoever owns this property is the definition of slumlord. When I went to take a shower on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning so I can go to work and earn money to pay my rent on time there was no hot water. This is getting ridiculous and has been going on for some time. I don't know if the problem with the boiler is that it's a piece of junk or inadequate for the complex's needs, or both. We just got a new laundry room after almost a month of not having one. The last machine provider, CSC Serviceworks, should be forced to go out of business. What a pitiful company they are--never properly fixed their broken machines or upgraded them with new ones. Thankfully we have all new machines from a different vendor, but instead of 6 dryers we now only have 4. There are about 80 units here that don't have washer and dryer hookups so 4 dryers are inadequate. The other day I had to wait for 1 1/2 hours to get a dryer after my clothes were done washing. I chat with a lot of my neighbors. So many of us are struggling to make ends meet with Austin's overpriced rent and constantly rising prices on everything else. I think the owners know they have a captive audience here as many of us can't afford to live anywhere else. That's why they don't fix things right and don't care if we have to wait hours now to get laundry done. It's really sad to feel like I'm being treated like they're just taking my money and I'm not getting what I pay for. At least Mary and Shawn are nice. Mary could step up her game on her communication with us. Finally got an email this morning about the ongoing hot water issues. I hope it's been fixed as I will be p. o'd if I go to take a shower Saturday morning and the hot water is off again."

"No hot water for 4 days now. Nobody keeps Us up-to-date. No one communicates. And when they do it's never the truth. "A few hours", means a few days. "A few days" mean a few weeks. There were no laundry machines for over 2 weeks, and the ones they now installed are DOUBLE the cost to do laundry. And the rent keeps going up up and up. We are paying more for less. This place is beyond stressful. And the costs of whatever they do will always be passed on to the residents, who have no power."

"I have a friend that lives here, definitely a nice place to visit with lots of parking and I was considering moving myself until I found out that management doesn't keep up with the rules they say. I'm allergic to dogs and I was told by my friend that this is a dog-free complex, but I've seen more and more people with dogs every time I visit. You can tell it's bad enough now because you can spot plenty of dog feces in the grass and occasionally hear dogs barking at night. I was also told they keep having to shut the hot water off because the boiler keeps having problems and there's supposedly no place to wash clothes on site anymore. I ended up deciding not to move in because that made me question what's all going on at this complex. Food for thought, rent seems cheap though."

"Been living here 8 months & I can honestly say it's the best renting experience I've ever had. I love the close proximity of the park it's really convenient. We're close to so many things so never have to go very far for anything. We live next to the pool & it's very peaceful maybe only had loud gatherings a hand full of times but they always made sure to quiet down at 10pm sharp. All maintenance requests are handled promptly. My neighbors are saints & everybody minds their business for the most part. Everybody is pretty friendly. There's always parking. They also approved me for my apt very fast when I really needed it. So thank you to Mary too who is also just the sweetest. I'm sure we will be renewing our lease & I'm happy to stay."

"Nice and comfy apt. Had a 2 bed 2 bath with a full kitchen and laundry area (washer dryer not included). Never had any issues with noise from surrounding rooms or outside and in the 4 years I was there, I never had any worries about nefarious activity either. What few repair needs or other issues I had were all resolved quickly and amicably and the overall condition of the complex was always good and clean. Bonus to the fact that the mail room is protected by a coded gate. The staff were always kind to me and my roommate and we wish them all the best!"
