"I was surprised when I received a text from Perch asking about my experience as the last I heard from the locator was six weeks ago, and I had since worked with another agency leading up to my recent move-in. The Perch locator was initially helpful and offered a virtual tour for a property as this was a long distance and time-sensitive move. When I had let him know I would be in Austin for an upcoming weekend, I got the sense he didn’t want to be bothered with his time - just a hunch based on his choice of words - but I still did let him know I would be local. When I didn’t hear back from the property to confirm a weekend tour on my own, he responds the following Monday with a brief email suggesting to walk-in - but I was already on my flight home. I had not heard from him since, and I let it be as I was under no obligation to continue working with him. I quickly turned to another agency who stepped-in to support me before making a decision and who continued to work with me. I never expected 24/7 concierge hand-holding. I only expected the “unmatched" service according to their site. The Perch locator did not oversee my application process and did not communicate with the leasing agent on my behalf. To add, my property manager informed me that the my locator who assisted me to the end would not receive commission because the Perch locator was first and that his lack of communication or my personal choice to switch agencies had no weight - which is a whole other bizarre practice with a hint of preferential treatment. Again, I had not heard from the Perch locator since the virtual tour six weeks prior. Maybe other renters are satisfied with mediocre service and don't know any better... and maybe most wouldn’t care about the locator commission as it’s not their money. To me, it was the principle of completing your job from start to finish to be “different” with “unmatched dedication... through every step of the apartment-hunting process”."

I was really impressed with all the properties he showed me, I could see and feel the vibe I was going for and that’s a hard thing to articulate so extra points for him being able to translate my requests!!!
