"A pretty simple menu with a throwback atmosphere. A major ride is just a loose meat sandwich, but made with their secret ingredients. Very tasty. It’s an old-fashioned fast food restaurant where they actually take your order at your table and serve it too. They also have great root beer, root beer floats, ice cream, as well as malts and shakes."
"I haven't been to a Maid Rite since 1984 when I lived in the Peoria Illinois area. So when I heard that they were still available in Iowa I had to get one before we left. So on our way home we stopped at the Maid-Rite in Muscatine. I have to say it was everything that I remember. The store is very nostalgic looking. It has lots of memorabilia from older times on the wall as well as vintage Made Rite signs. The Maid-Rite Sandwich was exactly how I remembered. The chili was pretty good. I enjoyed it. I don't like spicy foods and that was perfect. My daughter had a hot dog and it was huge but she really enjoyed it. Everybody had root beer floats and since it was the hottest day of the season so far they were extra good. Our waitress was really sweet and she was very attentive. If I ever get a chance to stop by again I'll be sure to do it."
