"About 2 years ago I bought a house that had two propane gas furnaces that were fairly new but had a 22-year-old AC system which needed replacement. As time went on the price of propane was getting very expensive so I looked for an alternative to heat and cool my home and hot water. I called All Seasons and they gave me a quote on a Geothermal system to replace my gas furnaces. Dan Fens, their expert on Geothermal, worked up a plan that would satisfy my needs and would actually pay for itself over time. The timing was good because there was a federal tax credit of 30% and an Iowa tax credit of 5.1% so I decided to go ahead with their system. Dan did a great job setting up all the necessary support to get the job done which included drilling three 300 ft. deep wells and excavating the Geo ground loop to the house. When that was completed Dan and his crew installed two Geothermal heat pumps with the ability to tie it into my existing propane furnace system, this gave me an alternative backup system which uses Geothermal for main heating and propane for backup. I did some calculations and the energy used to run this system equated to about 40 cents per gallon of propane. Over the last week with a -35 below wind chill the Geothermal system covered 100% of my heating needs.
