"We went on a weeknight in the middle of February. It was...pretty good...? Not bad...? I know, not helpful, but we're struggling with why we didn't like it better. The ambiance is okay, better than before but still like a fish out of water, a country vibe pushing for fine dining. My steak was good to very good, as was her pasta - solid if not great ingredients, well prepared, but a little heavy-handed with sauces. My bisque was super heavy cream, so couldn't eat more than half. Service was good, not super professional but timing was good and they were pleasant. Talked to the new owner/manager at the door. He seemed out of place, a little overwhelmed. Good food but not fine dining, and too expensive by 20-30%. For the acid test, we've never once talked about going back."

"If you are in the Conroe/Montgomery area and looking for a great place to eat dinner, Dulcino's Italian Steakhouse just opened and it's delicious. Dulcino's is in the same location where Rex's used to be. Rob and I are here now. I had a rosemary lemon drop and Rob had a glass of silver Palm cab, for appetizer we had the Burrata with arugula and prosciutto, for soup we had the Pasta e Fagoli, and for entrees I had the fillet with mashed and Rob had truffle pasta with grilled chicken. We give this place 5 stars."
