"Before I came here, I had already started working on my recovery, but when I got here, it pushed me back in my recovery. I debated whether or not to post this because I wouldn’t want to hinder anyone’s recovery but I would hate for someone to get setback as well. If your disorder is unique in anyway shape or form, I honestly do not believe this is the place for you. Awful place to go for any eating disorder that is unique. Unless your ED is exactly by the book, I wouldn’t recommend. I’ll add that I came here willingly, not only willingly, but had 0 help from my parents, took me 3 months to get everything in place and I jumped through all kinds of hoops to make it work so that I could get the help that I was desperate for. I’ll start with the fact that the Dietician is AWFUL. I repeat, AWFUL. Do not expect anything above that. The good healthy foods they advertise on their website are 100% inaccurate. Your food choices are extremely limited, even working with the dietician. I tried telling the dietician I didn’t eat white bread and that I preferred whole wheat because of my heart and she tried to tell me that there was no difference and that white bread is just as good and didn’t let me switch the breads… I was in such shock at such a ridiculous response that I didn’t even know what to say. If you don’t eat red meat, your only other options are chicken nuggets. That’s all that I was offered in replacement. one day I was trying to use the restroom, one of the staff members knocked and told me I needed to get to the group session . I was shown 0 respect from the staff, I’m 29 years old and got treated like a 7 year old. Also, when I called my mother to tell her what was going on, even the nurse at the front was shocked and apologized after over hearing my phone call. Anytime they don’t have group sessions, you’re just sitting around with nothing to do. No phone. And they lock your bedroom doors and tell you that you can’t go in there during the day. No one informed me of that untill I was stuck outside my room in my pajamas with no bra on underneath my shirt. On another note, each person is suppose to be assigned a therapist. I was assigned one, I got to talk to her the day I first arrived and then she apparently left for 5 days. She also suggested that i drop out of college and focus on my eating disorder. Not good advice in my opinion. I was told and that a different therapist would come and check one me. No one ever came and checked. I tried telling them I needed my laptop for school and they said I would have to wait until my therapist came back. I had assignments due, that wasn’t an option for me. Those first few days are also really tough and someone to talk to seems very critical to me. Once I decided to leave they started trying to accomidate my needs and then became very rude. They wouldn’t let me call my ride until I spoke with multiple staff members, and met with their online doctor that they still hadn’t set up for me to see. They seemed really fake when it came to genuinely caring. In my opinion, they care more about the money than the individuals that need help. It may be a beautiful place on the outside but the heart of this place is not. There’s a lot more wrong with this place but I’ll leave it at this."

"Not a place to go to for an eating disorder. Dietitian sucks and doesn’t seem to care for any clients and definitely doesn’t care or know what to do to do weight restoration. Lawsuit waiting to happen upstairs with sharp walls and flooring coming up. If you self harm, it’s perfect because they definitely don’t check for that plus just go upstairs and scratch yourself against the wall. Under staffed and triggering staff. I don’t know how this had 5 stars. Corporate doesn’t care about anything except for your money"

"It was such a pleasure getting to meet the staff at EDS. I was thoroughly impressed not only of the beauty of the grounds but the sincere deep efforts that clinical and the chef put into each individual person. Walking through with Chris, it was very clear that they have created a “home like” safe space for all, as well as I couldn’t help but notice each client had a genuine look of ease on their faces. There’s not a second thought in my mind that this where I would want anyone I love and care about to attend if needed."

"This facility saved my life in more ways than one. The staff is receptive and honest. The clinical staff helped me heal more than my ED. The nature is phenomenal; all the cattle in the back and comfy chairs are amazing! For groups are great! The tree house and outside by the fire pit is so relaxing to have groups! Thank you EDS for helping me with my ED and finding my true self along the way!"

"This is an amazing facility located out in a really beautiful area of west Texas. I have been in this field for over 10 years and was very impressed at their treatment models. Eating Disorder Solutions is a great resource for those struggling with eating disorders!"
