"I normally come to the W for the pool, this time around I was struggling to get the umbrella open, when I see a gentleman in black who approached me to help me out. Said his name was Danny from security who was very helpful. He also recommended for me to bring my girlfriend to the spa which is very convenient that offers great service, which I will definitely do. I appreciate someone to go about their way to provide an excellent experience. They need more people like him."

"It is surprisingly quiet than I think (weekend). whole building with very solid construction. Room is comfortable and clean. Design is modern. The smell of amenities is strange, like wood and musk. The view and location is great. Front desk is very nice for accommodating late checkout. They are under some renovation so some places are not accessible. The room doesn't look old at all, don't think the renovation is needed. Price is high, probably only make sense for business travel. I guess the price might be even more pricier after the construction is done."

"Visited the W last weekend and Justin took great care of me when valet parking my car. He was very attentive and knowledgeable and really made my experience at the W a great one. He gave my wife and I a great restaurant recommendation and was super cool. The room was clean and spacious and I will definitely visit again."

"While normally not a fan of the W hotel category of Marriott, I really enjoyed my stay in this one, and will happily return anytime that I am in Austin. We were assigned a double queen room on arrival, which was not our preference, but it was late and the hotel was fully booked. Expecting to hate it, we were surprised by the generous square footage, beautiful view of the Colorado river as it snakes up the terrain, and the twinkling city beyond. Breakfast was tasty, albeit slow service, and comped due to our status. Pearl, in the dining room, was caring, attentive and made sure that we were well cared for. Thank you, Pearl. The real gem of the staff is Brian at the front desk. Part reception, part concierge, he gave excellent suggestions for daily excursions, was always friendly and pleasant, and was helpful in getting us moved to another room as soon as the hotel had vacancies. Kudos to Brian the manager, who arranged for the move and gave as a gorgeous suite with an even better view. It’s always appreciated when a member’s status is acknowledged and rewarded. I took off one star for the reception we received from the young woman who was at the front desk when we first arrived, tired from a long day of travel. We found her unwelcoming and actually rude, starting our trip off with a negative experience. I won’t mention her name so as not to publicly shame her, but she knows who she is. Luckily, the kindness of front desk Brian quickly reversed our impression of the W Austin. In short, I highly recommend this hotel, and look forward to returning and seeing it after the renovations are done."
