"I read many reviews about roaches. My room was clean, no roaches, and the young man at the front desk was accommodating and took care of me quickly. The only issues I would say i am uneasy about is that there was a bad smell in one of the hallways that smelled like rotten eggs. So, I entered and exited using a different hallway. There were also a few unscrupulous looking individuals hanging around in the back part of the hotel outside. But it's night in Austin, so go figure. It would be nice to see a security team patrolling the premises and inside of building. But I did not see anything like that. Perhaps something the owner would consider in the future to add to supplement his business because it would help to make tenants feel safer. Other than that I give 4 stars. Thanks for the hospitality."

"We had stayed here for one night and definitely would not recommend - the staff was not very friendly at night and the first room we were checked into was not clean and there were pills and hair on the floor. Checked into a new room that smelled heavily of smoke and the floor was dirty. Very outdated as well. I've had some pleasant stays for budget friendly stays with Red Roof but, this was not one of them."

"Stayed here a couple of times cause the price was low. First time I regretted it and actually left and didn’t stay. Second time I stayed I have no idea what I was thinking. Rooms are old and smelled like smoke. The ac barely worked. Everything just didn’t feel clean. I will say that the staff was great and very professional. Seemed like they had things together. This place just needs a major overhaul."

"I was called twice the day of my reservation by the hotel to confirm my stay. I feel if I had not been able to answer those calls they would have sold my room. Anyway, we were assigned to a room on the 3rd floor. The smells in the hallway on the way to our room were enough to make my stomach turn. Once we got settled into the room and began watching tv, I noticed a flickering in the light. I looked closer and was surprised to find a large alive scorpion crawling around! I called down to the desk and was given two options, stay and switch rooms or leave the hotel entirely in order to get a refund. I chose to opt for the refund which I did receive about 4 days after the occurrence. I believe this problem should be brought to the attention of the management and maintenance team, as there clearly needs to be some pest control on the property right away. It was confusing that there could be a scorpion all the way up on the 3rd floor…could not possibly sleep comfortably after that!"

"I wouldn't recommend this place at all. Do not expect this hotel to look even REMOTELY like the pictures presented. There are similarly priced places down the road that have breakfast (none is available, food is only available for purchase) coffee (out of a pot in good repair, let alone that looks like something you want to serve yourself out of) and creamer/sugar, no bugs (German cockroaches) shower heads in good repair and people who are willing to help when the shower head falls off and floods the bathroom. Beds were comfortable, but no extra pillows and the rooms are musty. Staff was cordial enough, but seems their hands are tied on the what they are able to provide."
