"This hotel has plus 100 rooms but only 40 parking spaces and no valet. Yes, it is cute and has a fun vibe to it, but the rooms are exceedingly small. I would compare it to a dorm room with a bathroom and no "real" desk to work. Honestly, I cannot get past the parking situation. What a mess. Plan on hiking your bags with you several blocks to get into the hotel. You will fit in with some of the transient population on the street, so that may be a plus. The closest public parking is San Antonio garage and the reviews are horrible. This is a massive flaw in a hotel design. As a guest should be able to easily come in and out and not be treated like a homeless person walking up and down the street. I don't think I've seen a Marriott design this mismanaged in a long time. I will not be staying here in the future."

"I really enjoyed staying at the Moxy Austin it was a great experience. The staff was really friendly..this is a pet friendly hotel..They have a taco restaurant located within the hotel I really wasn’t blown away by there tacos but they stay busy. My room was really cute I love the set up . They had bar specials which were really great and cheap. All in all we would go back also $4o parking garage charge a night."

"Other than the location, this is not the hotel to stay at. I do not like giving negative reviews, but I felt I had to in this instance. I know it was a big parent weekend at UT but the price gouging was absurd. My girlfriend reserved 3 rooms for us and her children. Due to traffic, we arrived later than the kids. The kids were originally denied entering the rooms, because they would not use the card on file. They wanted us to be there and physically present the card which we could not do because we were driving. Please note that 3 rooms for two nights was $2100 before fees and tax!!! Just outrageous. Once we arrived, they told us we couldn't park in the $45/night parking garage because we didn't reserve it. Thankfully it's a short walk to a better garage for only $18/night. DO NOT GET FOOLED INTO THEIR BASEMENT GARAGE SCAM. Now for the best part, the rooms are extremely small, with no closets or room to even function in them. We received ZERO housekeeping for the two nights. When we asked the front desk, they mentioned that their policy is to only service the rooms for 3 nights or more. Just pathetically disappointing when charging 350/night. They also mentioned that if you need some extra towels, they could possibly accommodate. The service staff was friendly as if they already knew this was a total scam. If you do not need near this location, please consider a different hotel. I used to be in the marketing side for boutique hotels for brand design and assurance. I would be embarrassed to say this hotel was a client as they failed miserably to meet simple expectations. I hope this review helps in your decision making."

"Real cool place; you walk in and check in is literally inside the bar in the main lobby in full Moxy style. Place was a very affordable option in town just across from university campus. Received $30 on credits good towards the bar or food. Genesis from the Zombil Taco in the lobby was exceptional and went above and beyond to make me feel like the most important customer of the day. Staff was great, young crowd probably from university. GYM was better than I have seen in most bigger Marriott facilities. Highly recommend this place as an affordable and full of flavor spot."

"First of all, Kevin at the front desk was the only good person in the building. Everyone else seemed too caught up to worry about the guests in their hotel. Checking in at a bar made it feel like I was renting a room, well from a bar. At least a free drink is offered when you check in. I think the location is truly the only draw to this hotel other than price. It doesn’t really align with Marriott and is definitely more of a hip/trendy place to stay. The rooms are NYC studio small, with very few amenities in the rooms. The queen mattress we slept on measured 8 inches thin, so they certainly skimp on the most important part of the stay…the bed! Next let’s talk about the climate controls. If you cover the thermostat or don’t move around enough (like at night when you sleep) then it shuts itself off and you’ll wake up drenched in sweat. The main reason my rating for service is at the bottom would be due to the staff. I was walking down the hallway to my room and a housekeeper was leaving an adjacent room. As I walked past her she legitimately cussed me out in Spanish right in front of me. I guess she assumed that I’m white and don’t speak Spanish, but nah I heard it loud and clear. No stutter or hesitation before she spoke. I don’t really understand what went wrong with this hotel."
