"I’m sad to leave a 3*** review. CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD! We were charged for beverages/snacks that we didn’t touch. Loved the outdoor concept. There wasn’t a loud concert while we were there so had no problem with noise. (Except the guy above us was crazy loud. We were grateful when he left) It felt clean enough. Location was great. There are several other hotels around as well. The bed wasn’t comfy. When my hubby and I slept in it, it sunk in the middle, kind of like if you’re laying on a trampoline and everyone sinks to the middle. This place uses a swamp cooler rather than an air conditioner and none of the windows open, so it is super musty in the room. Our luggage and clothes smell musty. Staff was super friendly. Although, being charged for stuff we didn’t take is super annoying. They immediately reversed the charge, but seriously, if I wasn’t watching my account, I would have never known! ***Responding the the owner’s response: If we come again, we’ll just book with the Hilton down the street. Thanks though."

"Travelers beware. I stayed at the Austin location this past week for business and what a nightmare it was. For starters, the cleaning person left my hotel door open after she left so I was able to just walk into my room when I got home from work. A few days later, not only did they not clean my room but they had the audacity to put the "Do not Disturb" sign up on my door thinking that I may have thought I did that. Wrong. This was done purposefully by their staff. Lastly, they charged me for four items from the drinks and snacks in the room. This was also false. I strongly encourage travelers to look elsewhere as this place is run by a bunch of yahoo's, literally."

"We really liked this property and amenities. We’d love to see more of this concept across other towns and states. The staff was incredible. Available and quick to resolve potential issues or answer questions. We like that the rooms all face over the fire pits / pool / restaurant. It feels very communal and great for families. It’s a place to enjoy rather than just sleep. The rooms were cute and spacious. We didn’t get to try Water Trough but will definitely stay here again."

"The room was very comfortable and felt more Texan than other hotels. The actual amenities were high-class, from the sheets and bed to the toiletries. The room's vibe was relaxed with soft lighting but also with a big desk for working. I enjoyed the room a lot. The hotel's common areas were always clean, always nice, and always well-supported. Locals actually come here just to hang out. I recommend this place as the best hotel in the Domain."

"The staff at the Lone Star Hotel was amazing to me. From the moment you check in, you'll be greeted with a friendly hello and a nice cold beer or water if you’re up for it. Brought my two dogs and was so happy this hotel is pet friendly. This is a great option for families or travelers who want to bring their furry friends along for the ride. I forgot their water bowl but the front desk was kind enough to not only let me borrow one but to also give me free breakfast since elevator was under maintenance. I enjoyed the live music at the bar, they open the garage so I was able to bring my dogs out again and had dinner by the pool while listening to good music. The location is perfect, they have food vendors right behind the hotel or your can always walk anywhere to The Domain since is so close by. Love the ambiance this Hotel has, a nice rustic decoration that will definitely make you feel you’re out there in the country. Everywhere I walked was very clean, they have an artificial turf section where you can play with your kids or outdoor games, you can even start your own fire pit at night. Overall, this is my first 5 out 5 star review I have ever given a hotel. Thank you everyone at The Lone Star Hotel for being so kind, I will definitely comeback for another hiking trip to Austin next month and pay you guys another visit! You’re the best!"
