Aloft Austin at The Domain

"I stay in a lot of hotels, so this is not my first experience with the Aloft brand. In regards to this Aloft property, it's definitely one of their better ones. The bar and lobby area was nice, which also had an outdoor area. The bartender and staff were all very friendly and accommodating. One complaint is that the A/C in my room sounded like a 737-taking off, every time it kicked on... It woke me up earlier than I normally do due to the unit. Otherwise, the room was fine. I had a corner and it was spacious and had a nice shower with good pressure. Again, I don't know why it is the style now, but the communal Shampoo/Conditioner/Body wash dispensers are gross. I wish hotels would stop adopting them and go back to regular amenities. In closing, I would stay here again, but I hope they do a bit of maintenance on their HVAC system through the building before my next visit."

"Very good customer service and the bar has excellent service from Mike. Management is excellent Lucas Alonzo is doing an excellent job as well as the supervisors and managers. The kitchen is very good and the hotel is kept very clean. Superb job the rooms are very pristine and comfortable."

"Stayed over the weekend. We were able to check in about 2 hrs early which was nice. The room was clean and free bottled water. I did notice that this Aloft didn't have a restaurant like their other locations, but it did have the wxyz bar. Mike makes great cocktails! Location is great during the weekday but when it comes to the weekend, you would be wishing you booked a different place. Why is that? The weekend nightlife. Not so much the nightlife. It's how those people arrive and leave The Domain Shopping Center. It's the vehicles. Yes, those wannabe v8 with the cheap exhaust system, the Dodge Challengers/Chargers, Ford Mustang and those import compact with their exhaust system revving through the area. Nonstop til 3AM. Aloft is between the 2 parking garages. It was nice that Aloft provided earplugs but I don't like to keep something stuck in my ears all night. Other than that, everything is within walking distance. It felt pretty safe. I won't book a weekend stay again."

"The gym is tiny and has a couple of treadmills, elliptical and weights. There were 4 of us in there at the same time and it felt crowded. The entry way is nice and spacious and I wish they'd used some of that space for the gym. There is a very small pool probably more for soaking your feet more than swimming. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom us modern. There are plenty of USB plugs right next to the bed. The water temperature and spray is very nice. Overall I enjoyed the location as it's close to the Domain shopping area but the gym was a big disappointment"

"Great location as it is walking distance to all the shops at the Domain. It is difficult to get an early check in before 3 as we tried around 10am and just before 3pm to get a room even with Titanium Marriott status. Additionally, our status was never acknowledged but we were offered the points as the arrival gift. King rooms were not available even at 3pm so we opted for a 2 queen room. The room itself is fine, although it was a bit dated. There is Dry Bar amenities in the room although there was no body lotion to be found. There were two complimentary sets of ear plugs which worried me because I thought I was going to be listening to music from outside all night long. I didn't hear any music however, the AC unit is one of the older ones that sits under the window. It is so loud when it kicks on (you hear the thermostat kick on and then the unit powers up) and this happened several times throughout the night before I got up and turned off the AC. There is a parking garage behind the hotel although it fills up very fast with shopping parking. For overnight stays, you are given a parking pass (overnight parking is $10). Overall, it is a convenient location but the facilities could be updated. There is also complimentary coffee and water in the lobby and additional snacks can be purchased."
