Cedar Creek Inn

"Location is nice and walkable to most of Bertram. It is close to train tracks if that bothers you. We showed up around 1 pm to ask for a room. They found one for us though check in isn't usually until later at most hotels. Desk staff was friendly. I was reading the rules during check in and it states that you are not to make food in the room, and using the microwave or coffee maker results in a $300 fine? That's wild. There's no coffee maker though. Every TV channel said that there was an error in connection to the server, so we couldn't watch tv. The accent chair had a line of white droplets. (I think we all have the same guess as to what that was.) I went to clean it up with the SINGLE room towel, which had a few brown stains on it. Gross. This lead us to inspect the bed, which luckily did appear to be clean. However there was a group outside that was loud and the walls were thin enough to hear the people in the next room, as with most hotels. The rules said something about noise being enforced after 8 pm, but we ended up leaving before that. We chose not to stay here after all. Edit: I originally rated this 2 stars, but I'm changing it to one because I was called and bribed to take this review down. The chair has worn spots on each arm, but I wiped a line of liquid off of the seat with the [probably] poop-stained towel. The TV probably* did work great after the connection error was resolved. Never asked for or needed a coffee maker. Just letting people know. The rules state you will be charged $50 for stealing a microwave. The very next paragraph says there is a $300 fine for cooking and that includes the microwave and coffee maker. She is saying if they are offered a chance to fix things they will, but who wants to immediately have to call for assistance when traveling? (she has already edited the response after talking to me. She'll probably do it again.) I was offered a free stay in exchange for taking down this review and when I said I can't imagine a reason to stay in Bertram again, she switched to begging whilst leaving this [kinda gaslighty] response. Needless to say, her conflict resolution isn't the best. Spare yourself and just take the drive to a different hotel.."

"Super nice Gal that runs the Hotel, she even let me check in way early. This an older style hotel that has been modernized and is quaint, close to Hwy 29 but can’t hear the traffic while in your room, If you are looking for personable and not corporate you will love this place. I would reccomend this facility."

"We had to check out on an emergency but we came here today at 3:00 p.m. And everything was ready and cleaner than if I was in a big city at five star hotel. It was quiet and comfortable and most importantly it was very well lit and safe. My truck, my motorcycle and my family was so safe. I felt like I was back home. I would come here again a million times over. The customer service was great, the people were so welcoming and the customer service was outstanding. It was very clean"

"We booked a room almost a year in advance. We made plans and booked flights, only to have the hotel tell us that they were canceling our reservation because they had booked it out recently. I would highly recommend that you NEVER use this hotel if you actually care about getting a room, because they'll just resell your room for a higher price if they can. Then they cancel your reservation. I would give them negative stars if possible."
