"Wow! This place was incredible. I was nervous after seeing the reviews but our upstairs suite was worth every penny. It was perfect for myself, 3 young boys, and our dog. We stayed in the off season but will be back when the pool and boat ramp re-open. We plan on renting one of the cabins with a hot tub and view"

"I absolutely adore this resort. The rooms are spacious and clean. The view of the water is amazing. They have peacocks on sight which is something you don’t see every day and is super unique. I love that Canyon Resort is dog friendly since my husband and I travel with two dogs and it’s hard to find accommodations with them. Chelsea is amazing at her job and is very welcoming and helpful with any questions we had."

"Rustically awesome experience. Two of us stayed in cabin F for the solar eclipse in 2023. We got to watch it from the comfort of the hotel tub. Super cool experience. The staff here (guest services) is very helpful and worked hard to accommodate our feedback. Although not luxury as described on the website, the cabin for a weekend was a lovely experience. There were deer that would come close enough to be hand, fed, and all of the cabins come with a full bag of deer pellets ."

"Stayed for a weekend. As of 8/27/23, the lake is 17 feet low. There was no easy swimming, paddle boarding, or kayaking from the resort. There is a steep rock face you can climb down to access the water if you are daring. We drove to a local beach to swim. There was no hot water in our unit for showers, the sinks, or the dishwasher. Either the shower or toilet upstairs leaks water and drips on anyone standing at kitchen sink. The unit had many cobwebs, so we called and asked for spot cleaning. Someone found a leftover toothbrush and toothpaste in a bed stand, so the cleaning isn’t very thorough. The pool was closed for maintenance. It was neat to hand feed the friendly deer. If I were going to visit Canyon Lake again while it is this low, and if I wanted to swim, I would look for an Airbnb near Canyon Park."

"The rooms are spacious and have everything you need for your stay. The back porches are a great hang out area. We enjoyed the swimming cove although there could be some signs to help guide you. The staff were responsive through email and checking in and out was very easy! Plenty of towels and things were provided. The rooms really should be cleaned better. The carpet in the bedroom was pretty gross. The trim in the bathroom and other places had months of dust and gunk built up on them. The foot rest in the living room is completely ripped and the couch was stained. We tried to go to the pool and the water was absolutely disgusting. It was super cloudy, murkey and full of bugs- the lake water was much cleaner. The property has potential but needs a better cleaning staff and more investment into the quality of their rooms."
