stayAPT Suites San Antonio-Randolph (Live Oak)

"So I get a call from this hotel that there will be no front desk person to check me in after 8, which is a surprise because it’s 3pm and I haven’t left Austin. Assuming that info was somewhere on my reservation that I hadn’t read, I rush down to check in by 4, already suspicious now. When I get there, the place looks nice but the air quality is bad and I’m already worried my husbands allergies will keep us up all night. Then I go to leave, and I’m bolted in. I call front desk. They keep telling me to unlock the top lock. I say there is no top lock. They don’t seem to believe me. I try to escape out the window, it’s got some plywood and a screw keeping it locked, don’t see a screwdriver anywhere. Debate trying to get out the window using a butter knife if I can find it. Front desk gets there and I have to show them this pic on my phone of the “top lock” and they finally believe me. Three people help literally bust in the door and break it to help me out. They then take their time on getting me a refund so I can leave, which is annoying because I feel like that and an apology should have been pretty prompt. What if it was after 8pm and I didn’t have the emergency number info on hand? One star because id have literally been trapped all night."

"We stayed two nights at this suite for the Christmas weekend! The room was clean and pleasant. The kitchen and living room area are separated from the bedroom, which is nice! The location is near to the highway and major shopping centers. For the price, I am super please with the experience!"

"Beautifully designed rooms that are very apartment-like. The cleanliness really is on a high level compared to many other hotels in the area. The only downside is I wish they would build a stayAPT farther into the city of San Antonio, rather than on the outskirts."

"I was wary of the low price, as it looked too good to be true. I was not expecting it to be just as good in person as it was in the pictures! I love that the living room was separated from the main bedroom but without a door so that I didn't have to be in the same room as my kids. We will definitely be back when we return to San Antonio."
