"I reserved this lovely Hotel for my husband & I, and my 7 family members from California, for our daughter's wedding this September, at the wonderful wedding venue of Hofmann Ranch, in Castroville. The whole experience at this fabulous, historic Hotel was just fun, comfortable, and cozy. My family was in awe of how lovely everything was, from the grand, stone-walled living room, the intimate side parlor, the beautifully appointed bedrooms with very comfortable beds, the well-stocked, modern kitchen to the huge, elegant dining room, where we held my daughter's fun and festive rehearsal dinner. Everyone local, from New Braunfels, Canyon Lake and San Antonio, who came to the rehearsal dinner, also raved about how gorgeous this Hotel was. There were backyard lawn games provided, which were a constant source of competitive fun, in to the wee hours of the night, and just relaxing, all together, in the grand living room, laughing, talking & singing, are memories I'll hold dear for a lifetime. Pennie, the host and co-owner, was just a text away, if anything was needed, and she was so gracious & welcoming. For those 4 days, it felt like time stood still, all our cares & worries were gone, and we were all just enveloped in the history, warmth and comfort of the Hotel Tarde! An unforgettable experience my whole family will always remember. Thank you, Pennie, with your husband Josh, for lovingly and meticulously, restoring this landmmark to it's rightful, majestic place in Texas Alsatian history. Recommendations for places to dine & shop - everything within minutes of the Hotel - Magnolia Filling Station for great coffee, Sammy's for full, delicious breakfast, Haby's Alsatian Bakery for mouth-watering pies & pastries, Luigi's Italian for a superb dining experience, and The Barn for unique gift items."
