"The imaging service I had done on 9/7/23 was to be covered by Aetna (through my employer...PPO plan) in the amount of $200 and this was verified before my appointment. My responsibility was to be $50. I paid out of pocket the day of my service in the amount of $250 which I thought was strange but figured I would be contacted very soon about a refund or just receive a credit to my checking account for what Aetna was covering...the $200 which I technically overpaid. Checked my EOB for that service in which Aetna paid on 9/18/23. Today is 10/5/23 and I had not heard anything from Akumin /Preferred Imaging of Grapevine/Colleyville at all regarding anything at all about what they owe me. Not only did I have to take it upon myself to call and inquire about them owing me money, but I also am now having to wait for an unknown amount of time for them to just process the refund request and then it'll be another 7-10 business days once processed, for it to post to my checking account. What if I hadn't called? Were they ever going to send me a refund? Our so-called healthcare industry in this country is a joke. I have had this happen before at different times in the past with other providers and there's no rhyme or reason to it but it's so sad that patients bear the brunt of having to fix issues that the providers/insurance companies should be handling ...and handling in the right way. It's awful that we see so much failure in an institution / industry that we should able to trust and believe in."
"Two MRIs were scheduled back-to-back. We called two hours prior to the appointment to make sure we had clearance from insurance, and we were assured that we did. We got there and were then informed one was still pending. "We're sorry for the miscommunication. " There's no excuse for such inept information. Extremely disappointed with this facility. Because of extreme anxiety, it needed to be done as scheduled."
"I had a MRI one week ago and I am still waiting for the results. They say the results come back within 24-48hrs, but as of now I still don’t have any results. I am in pain and nothing can be done for me until I get the results of my MRI. I will say however the technician that did the MRI was great."
"1. Had MRI and X-Ray scheduled wanted to get done at Akumin in Fort Worth, but they didn't have X-ray so unfortunately despite the negative reviews I scheduled it at Grapevine "hoping" I won't have HORRIBLE experience here. I arrived early and filled the paper work, MRI and X-ray technician were nice, had pleasant experience. While MRI was uncomfortable and music was little loud I was fine with it. Technician Rating: 4/5 2. Now here it goes down hill, after paying the co-pay I specifically asked to get MRI and X-Ray report and CD to front-desk staff mailed to me as I wanted to get opinion of other physicians due to complicated nature of surgery. Staff agreed to mail the report and CD. I ended up paying slight over payment on both MRI and X-Ray (after I checked insurance claim they made) compared to what my co-pay should have been, but l will let that go as well. Staff Rating: 3/5 (Didn't bother verifying the exact co-pay and ended up overpaying) 3. After I called to get status update was told my report was sent to my doctor, so I AGAIN asked to get my MRI & X-Ray report to be "mailed", the staff told me they can't "E-mail" me report (lol), I AGAIN said I want it in CD mailed to my house, again he said he can't do that I had to drive 1hr from my house to pick up CDs and Report. ????? A. Either staff is ignorant or wasn't trained properly B. They didn't wanna mail as it entailed putting some effort Staff Rating: 0/5 (Aren't bothered to even mail your CD and Report) I have been to Akumin in Fort Worth, never had this kind of experience. The staff there is wonderful and friendly, right after getting my MRI I told them to get mailed and I got it within weeks. Never had to call back to remind or argue with them to get my report and CD mailed."
