"We absolutely loved staying here on our trip to Big Bend!! Great location and amazing views!! Pretty sure you can’t beat the views in this area at any other place! Hospitality was wonderful as well, we felt so welcome! Sheets and towels were abundant and clean. Everything worked perfectly (a/c, fridge, stove, shower, etc) and we had everything we needed to eat well and relax. Glamping at its finest. Don’t expect a fancy or modern place with wifi or cell service that’s not what you come here for. Come for the views and peace and quiet! Even got to see some wildlife! Bunnies and birds all around. Oh and great spot for viewing the night sky if you want to do that too!"

"Wow!! I had the pleasure of staying at the Wild Horses Station recently, and I was blown away! I hadn't made any reservations anywhere in that area on a recent motorcycle trip to Big Bend. So I gave them a call the day before I was expecting to arrive, and sweet Louise answered and assured me she would have a cabin for me the next day when I got there. Once there, I had the pleasure of meeting Louise, Wanda, and Tony. They were very friendly and went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of! I stayed in cabin #2, which was up on top of a hill. Getting up there was a bit of a challenge on my motorcycle, but since I was on an adventure touring bike, I managed. I can't imagine a cruiser type bike would make it up there. The cabin was perfect. All the amenities you would need for the perfect get away. The view on top of the hill was amazing! The sunset, the stars, and the Milky Way was breath taking. I would definitely stay there again if I ever made it back down there."

"Located 76 miles south of Alpine on Hwy 118 it is situated on the left side of the road. My wife and I spent two nights in Cabin number 1 which is situated 1/3 of the way up a mountain. Wild Horse Station has six cabins which to look at, I would describe as Rustic. The inside of number one has 2 bedrooms, a bath shower, a bed couch and a full functioning kitchen. The beauty of this cabin is the panoramic view, West, North and South. The price is reasonable and the owner is a sweet Lady. Walking into the reception is like walking into a time capsule of decades. TIP. Going up to number one? Slow up and slow down."

"This is a long-overdue review, but it's been on my "to-do" list for some time now (for 2 years now!)....and I think it's about time I sit down and write about it. The silence and stillness here are far superior to any other "popular" place you can stay in Terlingua or Study Butte. If you want to TRULY experience the glorious International Dark Sky of Big Bend and see the Milky Way in its full splendor, you HAVE to stay here. It is located in such a unique location of town that blocks all the city lights. The cabins are decent and comfortable enough (sure, it's not your posh 5-star resort)... but that's not why people come out to Big Bend. We didn't come out to Big Bend for a posh hotel. (If we did, we would've gone on a cruise ship or something else.) Rather, we came out to Big Bend to "get away from it all"....and Wild Horse, in my opinion, is the very best place to stay to find solitude and silence. We were able to hike and experience Big Bend during the day. In the evening, we came back to our cabin at Wild Horse and felt like we had the magnificent sunset all to ourselves. And when the night came, the Milk Way was on display in its full glory. You cannot catch a view like this in any other motel or lodge. Wild Horses is where it's at. And to top it all off, Louise and Wanda are truly so helpful and wonderful hosts."

"Our visit to Wildhorse station was excellent. The owner, Louise, was extremely friendly and genuinely cared that we had a good time, providing us with helpful suggestions on interesting places to see and experience. The accommodations were rustic but clean and the housekeeper visited daily to freshen up. You couldn't ask for a better location with our cabin nestled among rocky desert mountains. This is not a five-star luxurious hotel, but the five stars is for the overall experience. Visit this place if you want a story to tell."
