Residence Inn by Marriott Louisville Airport

"Such nice ladies at the front desk and they even tried to get it warmer in the gym for me too which I completely appreciate!! The efforts from the staff were on point! Rooms were cozy, clean and had everything we needed."

"This hotel is located in a great spot and is conveniently located to downtown Louisville and other local venues. There is a free shuttle that will take you within 3 mi of the hotel as well as to and from the airport should you need it. There is a full breakfast every single morning and Mindy, the weekday girl is fantastic. She is super friendly and definitely goes the extra mile to make sure that you have a good meal to start your day. There is laundry on site as well as a very large lounge area at the main entrance of the hotel. There's a fireplace and a big screen TV and plenty of areas to sit and relax or work if that's what you have to do. The gym is well appointed and very clean. There is also an outside grilling area with a built-in grill and adequate seating. The room that I stayed in was quite spacious and while the bed was a little bit small for my tastes, it was incredibly comfortable. The extra bonus that I really enjoyed for this room was that it has a full stove / oven versus just a cooktop like many other Residence Inns have. As with all the properties, each kitchenette area is fully appointed with silverware, pots pans and cooking utensils as well as a full size dishwasher and garbage disposal. These are all must haves if you are staying long-term . From what I understand there are only a few rooms at this property that have full oven/stoves, so if this is something you need, trying to arrange it well ahead of your stay The bathroom is a bit small, but that's really not a big deal. The closet space is adequate and there are plenty of dressers and areas to store your personal belongings. I especially like how the TV swivels 180 degrees so you can face it towards the bed or turn it towards the desk or sofa. While there are many positives there were a few negative takeaways. Parking can be great or it can be horrible depending on what is going on in a local area. The Kentucky exposition center is just down the street, along with Univ. of Louisville. Events and sports season means packed hotels, which means limited parking. Dust- I don't think that there's anything that the hotel can do specifically other than preventative maintenance. I noticed that dust would build up incredibly fast to the point where I was wiping down all of my surfaces every single day. When I first arrived and noticed this, I mentioned it to the front desk and asked that they check my filters on the AC unit. There was a heavy accumulation of dust on the door jamb to the in room AC unit, which is locked. I assumed that somebody from maintenance addressed this issue because the next day it appeared that the door jamb had been wiped down and was clean. Regardless, I don't know if it's the area but if you stay long term you will see dust build up. Wi-Fi/Internet- The property claims that they have hi-speed Wi-Fi and I even saw something about gigabit, but this is simply not the case. On a good day, I was seeing 7-8 Mbps at best. Some days, it seemed as if it couldn't get over 2-3Mbps. To top it off, there is no hard wired internet; or ethernet ports in the room that work. Laundry- I stayed in the main building and there is only one laundry room with four washers and four dryers. These units are commercial grade but they are very small. Also welcome back to the '80s because they are coin operated. Each load costs $1.50, same for the dryer. While the washers do a good enough job there is only one dryer, the one on the left, that will completely dry your clothes in one cycle. So if that dryer is not available, plan on spending at least $3 to dry one load. Something for management to push up to Marriott, I think that laundry should either be free or less expensive than it is. At that, I feel that once you are platinum or higher, laundry should definitely be a perk, especially for a longer than a few weeks. One last thing... Room 301 vibrates regularly. Weird. I spend over 3/4's of the year in hotels and I pick Marriot when at all possible. This location will definitely be a top pick next time I'm in the area."

"It was wonderful. There was some neighbors that were making a lot of noise in the other room. But I think that they quieted down after midnight so that was good"

"The worst experience of my life was in this hotel. My daughter and my entire family got sick there from the dust in these rooms due to the lack of cleaning. The cleaning of the housekeeping, in addition to being every 4 days, consists of changing towels and garbage, they do not clean the bathroom, they do not vacuum the carpet at all and the very dirty air ducts. One day at 3 am my daughter was coughing a lot and was crying because she couldn't sleep and I had to go to the reception to have them change our room to a clean one so we could sleep and they did it for that night. Supposedly they asked me to clean my room in the morning. I asked to speak to the manager.They told me the manager would arrive at the hotel at 11 and I went down at 11:15 and she had already left the hotel, so she didn't care that we filed a complaint and she didn't wait for us to have the report of our complaint. There was too much lack of respect towards me and my family. Too much lack of attention to the guest in this hotel. We looked for another hotel that day and the next day we left that hell. Another fact, the hotel towels were disgusting and full of hair when they were supposed to be clean. I don't recommend staying in this place at all."

"Apparently the front desk agents don’t have a map of the property. As a titanium member, I requested a specific location when checking in, but they didn’t know if it was on the right side of the building or not. When I went to take a shower in the morning it was full of hair and used soap bars. Nobody was at the desk when I left early in the morning. I expect more out of a Marriott property."
