Merit Children's Academy

"I had transferred my daughter to Merit Children’s Academy from a smaller daycare at the start of her PK-3 year, believing that she needed a larger program that would be more academically stimulating to her. Since joining the Merit family in 2022, I have been incredibly happy with the care and education my child has received. There have been so many things to love about the program, starting with the building itself! This converted church is bright and airy and was remodeled with safety and comfort in mind. The program has proximity to Uptown and Downtown Dallas, and the drop off and pickup is hassle free. The hours are convenient, and Merit offers in-school activities, including soccer and dance, as well as 2 meals plus snacks, which makes life easier for this single working mom. There is even a Parent’s Night Out, which is fun for kids and a wonderful resource for parents. The curriculum is very challenging, with my only concern being that kindergarten may be a remedial year for my daughter. She can count to over a hundred, has started elementary addition/subtraction, can identify and write all her letters in upper and lower case, as well as write words (with me spelling them to her). My daughter is also reading Level 1 readers at home with only minimal assistance. But the best thing about Merit are the teachers and wonderfully organized staff. Olive’s teachers have been patient and loving, yet also have my daughter’s utmost respect. She honestly sees them as extended family. For this reason, we will be so sad to leave for kindergarten this Fall, but I know that Olive has been well prepared for this next stage of her life because of Merit Children’s Academy-Uptown."

The peace of mind I have, knowing that my twins are safe and happy, is priceless."

"We have been bringing our special needs toddler to this facility since he was 1.5. He will be turning 4 in just a few short months now, and he has excelled tremendously. Thanks to the combination of ABA therapy & the consistency of the amazing staff at Merit, our child has really blossomed. "My daughter has been with Merit for almost a year and we love it! We absolutely love her teachers! She is learning so many skills. They did such a great job getting her to nap and getting her on a schedule, something I had a hard time doing! The communication is wonderful and I’m always kept up to date with her daily activities but also any illnesses in the infant hall. Everyone knows us and greets us so kindly.
