My Place Hotel-Lubbock, TX

"I turned the bathroom light on and dozens of roaches started running. It was awful! I walked out and asked for a refund. The lady at the front desk was so nice. It was SO awful!"

"My recent stay at My Place was disappointing and unaccommodating. Upon check in, I learn of their no cash policy, and had to rearrange my form of payment. Once my family and I checked into our room, we found roaches ALL over the place (bathroom, kitchen area, and tables). I called the front desk and informed them and requested a new room. They honored the request however, the second room was not much better. The sinks in the room had a plumbing issue and the hotel telephone did not work/dial out. Our request for a refund was not honored. The staff was kind but the hotel overall did not meet basic standards of cleanliness."

"Incredibly polite staff despite being short-staffed. Clean, comfortable rooms in a convenient location. Only thing that would make it better is if the kitchen came with a few dishes. 5/5 would stay again."

"Beware of leaky ceilings! If it is going to rain while you stay at this hotel, make sure you put your valuables, food, electronics in a place that’s not directly underneath a light fixture. If it did rain and you unfortunately suffer any loss, take pictures, and ask them to investigate before you leave the hotel. Otherwise they will investigate weeks later after the water is gone and deny responsibility! Stayed in room 200 for 4 nights. It rained overnight and the ceiling around the light fixture was leaking, and unfortunately my phone and tablet was on the table underneath the said light fixture at the time. My phone was fine after drying it out for a few hours, but my tablet…not so much. The tablet stopped charging and when I took it to Apple Store, it was unfixable and had to be replaced. Initially the general manager Lexi was responsive and promised that the hotel will work on getting me compensated, but they decided to investigate two weeks later and told me there was no water up on the ceiling. Of course, even the deepest water puddles are gone after a couple days on the street! I didn’t take pictures of my wet phone and wet iPad, which was my bad (but of course, they probably will say it’s not from the ceiling even if I did, plus, what am I supposed to take pictures with? Both my phone and iPad was soaking wet at the time)."

"It’s a place to rest your head but far from comfortable. I checked out 2 single rooms on different floors because of the smell in the first room and both had the same problems. The rooms and hallways smell of the previous guests and/or their pets. The beds are creaky, uncomfortable and screech if you roll wrong at night. You will pray that the toilet will flush. The kitchenette sinks don’t drain and the disposal is either disconnected or not working. The recliner’s exterior are disintegrating. The cheap price is enticing but not worth the money. This particular property is just not comfortable no matter the price. We stayed at a remodeled property in Colorado Springs and were expecting a similar experience. The Colorado Springs property offered almost all the same stuff and was WAY better than this property. After seeing this extreme difference between the properties I won’t be taking a chance on My Place properties ever again."
