"Five stars all around for Abuelo's. The restaurant is very clean and has a nice ambiance whether you are in the bar area, at the bar, or in the restaurant. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Food and drinks were delicious. Definitely coming back to this laid back spot."
"Sopapillas are just fried tortillas with cinnamon sugar, not actual sopapillas/fried bread. In my opinion, not worth the price, but still yummy, and served with honey. This place may not be an authentic Mexican restaurant, but food was fairly good, service great, and I especially enjoyed the atmosphere. Beautiful decor and furnishings. Open, bright, and love that vs. a dark somber restaurant. Overall, fun time out for our son's birthday."

"Getting inside this restaurant is like dining with Encanto cast! You can really feel the Mexican vibe which os very vibrant, full of cheer and festive! Food is superb and the service is fantastic! I can say a pride of Lubbock to have this restaurant in the City! Salud!"
"Nice restaurant, beautifully decorated. Lots of people but waited less than 5 minutes. There is a patio, but it was not in use. There is also a large bar area with TVs. Our waiter was very attentive without hovering. Lots of good choices! Price are reasonable. Parking was no problem. We ordered the fire grilled shrimp wrapped in bacon ( excellent!) and chicken Enchiladas (very good) rice (good) and refried beans ( no flavor at all). Overall, I was very happy and would eat here again!"
