"This is a great beginner to intermediate hike, or great for a trail run. Some parts are muddy, so bring trail runners. Depending on skill level you may or may not want water with you. Both trail section are loops and both have shady and sunny areas. The trail to the right (north) is 2.5 with some up and downs. The one to the left (south) is 5 miles (if you do all of it) with fewer climbing sections and has muddier areas. Generally, I will mostly briskly hike both with some running and complete all 7.5 miles in 1:45. I get water in between loops so I don't have to carry it around with me. If you want a more scenic day, you can branch off and go down to the lake. Wildlife I've seen include deer, turtles, cranes, cardinals, hawks, and various butterflies."

"It is a beautiful place and hearing the waves in the lake was like music to my soul. There are a lot of ups and downs though and most of the trails are not paved so I highly recommend hiking boots and a partner to walk with. Don't forget your water!"
