"This was a nice stop on my busy day. Loads of classic and authentic railroad artifacts on display. I just wish it was a little bigger but I was not disappointed in the least. I plan to come back when I have more time. The caboose really gives the museum character. I may bring my mom next time. She grew up in Fulshear and remembers the train line well."
"If you ever find yourself in Katy, Texas, you've got to check out this hidden gem - the MKT (Missouri, Kansas and Texas) Railroad Museum. Honestly, in a world where everything feels like it's about the next dollar, this place is a breath of fresh air. It's like stepping into a time machine! And the story behind it? Crazy cool! A group of super passionate folks picked up the place for just $25 (I mean, come on!) and poured their heart and soul into bringing it back to life. One thing that really stuck with me was the old waiting rooms - there were separate ones for white and black passengers back in the day. It's wild to think about how times were, but it's a part of our history. Makes you appreciate how far we've come and gives you a little nudge to never forget. Big shoutout to our guide, Brad! Dude knows his stuff and made the whole experience a blast. You can tell he loves what he does and it's infectious. And man, Texas, you never let me down. The hospitality, especially in awesome towns like Katy, is always on point. So, if you're in the mood for some history, great vibes, and a dose of that good old Texas charm, swing by this museum."
"A fun place to stop when in old Katy. The red caboose you can climb on and take pics. A plaque tells the story of the mkt. Missouri Kansas Texas train line for which Katy, KT is named."
"We enjoyed visiting here and learning little history of Katy related to the railroad station. The building is old but they have tried to keep all the equipments that were used. It's a really good experience for kids. The Museum keeper was a very friendly lady, and was excited to give us the tour and explain things. She happily answered all the questions our kids asked. Kids really enjoyed seeing all the equipments of old times and to learn how they were used."
"A place most people drive by everyday and never stop in. Well kept, interesting information and pictures. It’s the perfect size and casual atmosphere for my preschooler, getting to see the real caboose up close is also great fun! A treat to step back in time and appreciate the way things used to be."
