About the Business

Leonard Park

Leonard Park, located at 6478 Genoa Road in Fort Worth, Texas, is a beautiful park situated on Block 22 of the Ridgmar Addition. Originally reserved for a school that was never built, the park was officially acquired by the park department in 1983. The park features a playground, trails, and a backstop on 6.5 acres of land.

Named after well-known businessman Marvin Leonard and his wife Mary, Leonard Park is a tribute to their contributions to the community. Marvin Leonard was the founder of Leonard Brothers, a successful retail business, and also built Colonial Country Club and Shady Oaks Country Club. Mary Leonard was a prominent club woman and community volunteer.

Visitors to Leonard Park can enjoy observing various animal, plant, and insect species through iNaturalist, as well as making their own observations. The park also offers accommodations for residents with accessibility requirements, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the park's amenities.

Please note that the Fort Worth City Cable Channel (Charter/Spectrum channel 190) will be offline for a few weeks starting March 11, but City Council Meetings and other City meetings can still be viewed on the City's YouTube Channel during this time.

"Love this park, the only problem is that the park is not as big as expected, but it is still good, and it is good to walk/run/exercise, I'd surely recommend this park"

"We love taking our 3 year old here with our dog Radar. They like to run off steam and roll in the grass. Nice little benches and tables to sit at. Butterflies mate on the trees, there's plenty of shade and a field to play games (think kickball or something?) Or fly a kite... Just a fun little park by our house that we love to visit."

"Cute little park, they have a playground and a sidewalk all along the park for people to take a stroll on. They have some picnic tables by the playground too."
