"This is an outstanding museum, not matter what level of WWII knowledge and interest you have. The displays are fantastic and the descriptions are very thorough and accurate. The glider displays and stories are very informative and give a real appreciation for what these brave U.S. soldiers did. Highly, highly recommend stopping and staying 2-3 hours."

"Nice little museum near the airport in Lubbock TX. I learned a lot about the history of glider troup transport in WWII. They have some nice displays of war hardware and small arms pieces. If you are a war history buff, it's well worth a visit."

"Why does a small city of a quarter million people, located in the middle of the West Texas desert, have an international airport? The answer is that the airport was built during World War II to train paratroopers and glider-borne troops. The city of Lubbock was chosen as a training site because it was located in a remote area with good weather conditions. The airport was later used to train troops for the Korean and Vietnam Wars, but it was eventually decommissioned after the Vietnam War. The city of Lubbock then took over the airport and converted it into a commercial airport."

"Very interesting story here...I never knew the US Military had thousands of gliders they used to drop men and supplies behind enemy lines. Why didn't we learn this stuff in school, it would have been a more interesting story than what we were taught? There's one fully restored glider on display in a custom built gallery plus lots of other interesting items. The front of the gliders lifted up allowing transportation of jeeps, bulldozers, and other equipment. We started the visit with a 16 minute film that told the story of these gliders. The museum is located at the old Lubbock Airport terminal. The museum addition includes an incredible glass wall overlooking the new terminal and the runway."

"A well done museum that does a thorough job of explaining all aspects of the glider Era. Very impressive. God bless all the men and women who served to protect our Republic and our way of life. Sad that so many today don't value patriotism or our liberty and way of life."
