"The owner asked for $1000 upfront to fix the catalytic converter. This should have been a red flag, but we paid the upfront price because a friend recommended the mechanic for inspection. The final price was $1500 to repair the catalytic converter. The check engine light came on about 45 miles after leaving the auto shop. We took the car back a couple of weeks later and the owner said Meinkein repaired the welded catalytic converter. This information was never disclosed before. We were under the impression the auto shop made the repairs. When we took the car back the owner stated the check engine error code was not related to the catalytic converter. Afterward, we took the car to two other mechanic shops and the error code was for the catalytic converter. Either this auto shop has a faulty code reader or he's very dishonest. I'm going to with the dishonesty part."

I've recommended my nephew and a friend that was looking for a place to get her car inspected. It's family owned and imho they are honest and offer reasonably priced mechanic services."
